I've grown quite fond of my tinnitus and often chant right along with it, either mentally or out loud.

I love it when I can tune in to it during my meditations, it's like my own private sacred chant!

That is great that you actually enjoy the sound. Most people don't though. It disrupts their life.

Like another poster said, I don't want to get rid of it. I love the various tones, pitches and volume. It's like my own little orchestra at times.

I don't mind the tones, but sometimes, especially at night I would LOVE silence. Just cool, clear silence.

Usually when I mention that they should fix it or turn it off, the ringing stops for awhile.

What a pile of shite that is.
In fact, I think it's actually given me tinnitus.

By the way americans, I know you like to bastardise proper English but the suffix pronounced EYE-TIS means something is inflamed.
If you pronounce tinnitus as tin-EYE-tis that would suggest that something called a Tinn is inflamed would it not? And as far as I know there isn't a part of your ear called a tinn (the nearest is tympanic membrane or eardrum).

Hence the correct pronunciation is tin-it-us.

Ok, this is bullshit. For the most part i'm a pretty happy go lucky guy. I randomly get ringing in my ears from tinnitus and there aint shit i can do about it. Just wait for it to go away and get back to what i was doing.

You are lucky that you are able to get some relief from tinnitus. Most are not that lucky and it can lead to a lower quality of life.... some commit suicide.

Since you know there is nothing you can do about it indicates to me that you have seen an ENT doc. You are right, there are no cures as of now. Some have beat it based on why they have tinnitus. Most have not.

Some do have that occasional sound and it does go away in a matter of minutes. They are the lucky ones!

Well, if that's true then I reckon I have no real interest in getting a "fucking clue" whatever that entails...

I have a constant ringing in the ears, which many people call 'tinnitus'. It's not important to me to find out if I have the 'proper' version, or to get officially 'diagnosed' or having a 'fucking clue' or any other such exercises in futility.

I've simply learned to make the most of it and put it to good use, and after a year or so I've actually grown quite fond of it!

Nothing EVER happens to me that doesn't have the potential to benefit me in some way... it's up to me to find what that is.

My tinnitus was caused by bad alimentation (glutamato, salicylate) and medical drugs (aspartame) which are toxics that destroy brain cells.

Anyway, those toxics can only be eliminated by a depuration program according to Ron Hubbard (Cientology).

I bought his book "Clean body clear mind" which tells all about this program and I have been doing it for a week by now. Well, so far, so good...but it takes at least 5 weeks to get rid of all the toxics, accordingly.

Then, I am having a macrobiotic diet and a raw food diet in order to get pure vitamins and minerals into my cells thru the blood circulation so that the cells can heal thru the cell division.

It is no longer peaceful in your quiet time. It is the most intrusive thing that can come over you. I hate it, it’s the first I’ve heard of people killing themselves over it, but if it was much louder, I can see it. I wear earbuds with soft music to deal with it during sleep.
Don’t kill yourself over it, just drown it out. And if it’s purposely put there to mess with you, I wish great pain to the punks doing that.
