Organized Religion: The Cancer of Human Society

There are some really good things in religion. But sadly most of those things are obscured by other parts of the religion.

The Golden Rule is a great example. Discussed in almost all organized religions, but ignored by the same people who claim faith in those religions.

Gotta agree, theres good things but theres a lot of bad x.o

Worst still, tens of thousands of ancient documents were hidden and/or destroyed by religions.

So many answers were lost, so many controls put in its place...

The Library of Alexandria!

Yes, burnt by religious fanatics. Because the truth went against the "Holy Book" they were writing.

Some truths were saved. Although most humans will never get to see those documents.

I would pay to have unlimited access to the Vatican Hidden Library.

Nah, libs and commies are the cancer.

"Libs" and "Commies" and "Repubs" have caused less death, murder and war than religion has.


Although the tools of division created by those "titles" fit nicely with what religion tries to do.

It's funny when people say religion has caused more deaths than anything.

Humans are violent. Every time period, every faith, every venture, every political ideology humans have tried, have caused deaths.

Name a time period or venture that has not had violence involved. There is none.

Religion has done good in this world too. The U.S donates more money to worldly causes than any other country in the world, and christians lead the way.

Just because you are bias against it, doesn't make it all evil.

There are parts of it that bring negativity on the world. Those parts spread, like a cancer.

I am not talking about just Christianity. All organized religions have been used for the basis of war/murder/hate.

And yes, there are good parts to religion. The Golden Rule. Which is ignored time and time again.

Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.

It's fine to have your opinion. It's just funny to me when people blame religion. It's humans. Humans will turn anything violent. ANYTHING. We are good at that.

I disagree with you. I dont see humans as this way naturally. We are brainwashed into this.

I can have a room full of 2 year olds. They all dont become violent with each other.

Violence is brainwashed into us. We have been "taught" to accept violence as normal. Time and time gain people buy into these teaching. Even yourself thinks violence in humans is "natural".

It is actually the symbol for Taoism. Like the cross is for Christianity. But, I am not surprised you didnt know that.

It hold a deeper meaning than Taoism to me as well. It symbolizes what I strive for, and what I am.

Strive for balance in my life. And I am bi-racial. Half black and half white. Just like the "occult symbol"

Give them food, they will fight over the food.

Give them religion, they will find a way to fight about it.

Two year olds have not been taught yet.

ummm, that is probably the most retarded thing I have heard all week. lmao!

My little boy never once acted that way. To this day he happily shares anything he has with others.

Matter of fact, in all the play groups I have been involved with, I have never seen all the 2 year old act like that.

Do you have kids? Did your 2 year old act like that? Mine didnt and still doesnt at the age of 6.

imo your both right, humans WILL make violence from anything, but religion can bring that more out in a lot of people and divide us.

definitely man, man is a mess of sin, it doesn't have to be taught.

Communism as we know it has been around for a very short time.

Religions have been killing people for much much longer.

Again, it really cant be argued with. People have died over religious beliefs more than any other "belief/idea".

As their religion designed.

Is that why most main stream religions say...

"If you dont beleive this you will suffer for eternity"?

Don't forget about faith.

As in the second something about a sheep's religion starts to not make sense to them, they excuse it away by saying "Well, that is why we just need to have faith. God works in mysterious ways!!"

Well, as I stated earlier, I respect your right to have an opinion about anything and everything. But I do disagree.

I also will not call how you choose to live your life a cancer.

We should all respect each others choices and paths in life. We don't have to share it, but respect it.

And I yours.

The teaching of Jesus are about as "pure" as they come. But the Bible contains more than the "teachings of Jesus".

"Christ-Like" people are wonderful. They are truly an inspiration. They are few and far between though.

Edit: I did not say you life is a cancer either. If you truly live a "Christ-like" life/mindset, you are anything but a cancer. I say "Christ" because I am assuming you are Christian.

A Buddha like life is wonderful too!
