Make sure you make it over to Freemont Street and old Vegas! I usually stay at the Shore Point Casino, away from all of the hectic crap downtown. Cheap, clean, nice, great food, bowling and more... all night long! Have fun! Wow........great info. I haven't looked at the Shore Point yet. And good food intrigues me. yummm. I love that hotel. oh and don't forget to go to New York New York and the stratosphere for the roller coasters! oh and circus circus of course |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 20904099 United States 04/29/2013 12:33 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | My wife and I got married in Vegas (2nd wedding for both of us) and we stayed at Paris, Las Vegas. It was very romantic. Because it's modeled after Paris, everything just has a nice touch that brings out the romance. Go to the top of the Eiffel Tower at night---very nice. One thing we liked was that I told the desk staff that we were getting married and I slipped a $20 across the desk. She upgraded us to a suite with a 4 poster bed with canopy. Everything in the room was very luxurious. When you walk through the shops and restaurant area, there are all these different elements that are patterned after Paris. There are little "sidewalk" cafes, roving entertainers, and my favorite is that the ceiling is painted like the sky. This is just my opinion, and there are lots of others that are nice that I've stayed in before. But for me, the romantic themes of Paris are done very well there. |

It is more of a local experience... Literally two blocks from my house at southern highlands golf course. It is very small and personable and about tHree miles souTh of the strip. It does have a good price usually, appx 75 plus resort fee and the steakhouse is incredible at a very competitive price. It is not really a vegas strip experience. Very little action on the floor and at the tables. They were using old style comps instead of points, but I think they changed that when they got sold in bankruptcy last year. |

(OP) User ID: 31326177 Canada 04/29/2013 12:48 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | The Venetian and palazzo are connected and basically the same hotel in a great location and the most competitive rates. Usually around 79 a night for the same experience as a 300 room at Wynn or bellagio. Every room is a two level suite at Venetian and palazzo vs a holiday inn style room at most hotels for the basic room. By two level, I mean entry room and a small one foot drop to the second room. Quoting: Bill clukter Some of the other hotels people mentioned would be niche choices. Mandalay bay is very south on the strip and not in walking distance to much. It is big and beautiful with great pools. The palms is on the other side of the 15 and a bit disconnected from everythin. Golden nugget is on freemont street for an old vegas experience. It is small and beautiful, but freemont is not a high rolling experience... Cheap beer and food. MGM is a neat casino, but it doesn't really have the bellagio feel like Venetian and it usually pretty pricey. MGM does have a condo option called MGM signature that is kind of neat. Very, very high rooms with a walk out balconi. All in all, I have flown over a hundred groups down over the years for a wide variety of things and most of them like the Venetian best for the price and niceness factor. One group liked caesars best for the spa, my parents liked the golden nugget the best for the country/hillbilly factor of freemont and the ons who don't consider money an issue at all tend to stay at the bellagio or Wynn. Thank you for all the excellent insight, Bill. I will have a much easier decision now. Cheers You are my sun, my moon & all my stars. ~E. E. Cummings |

I went last weekend with a group of girlfriends. We had a 4 bedroom, 3.5 bath, with a pool and hot tub in a gated community on the golf course. It was less than a hotel and only 15 minutes to the strip. (OP) User ID: 31326177 Canada 04/29/2013 01:04 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I have stayed at many different hotels on the strip, all are unique in their own right. Venetian is outstanding, Mandalay has awesome bathrooms, Palms has the best beds, but is off the strip. Monte Carlo, Treasure Island and Mirage all about the same. I would not stay at the Luxor or Excalibur. NY Ny is fun I love going to that hotel but have not stayed there. MGM is just huge takes a long time to get to your room. Quoting: zephyr Paris is very nice as well but if you can swing it stay at the Venetian. HHmmmmmm. The Venetian is definitely the winner by more than 2 - 1. Or the Paris. Which one will it be..... This is my problem. They each have one thing I really like and none of them have them ALL. You are my sun, my moon & all my stars. ~E. E. Cummings |

Decent location, used to be Imperial Palace. I'd shy away due to construction though. Who needs that noise when you wake up with a hangover?!
