Just felt the jolt. strange how much difference a few miles can make. Are you hearing all of the police sirens where you are? No sirens here, kind of outlying area. I don't think this is the little chandler EQ showing in USGS. Note the time on that one -- at the xx:45 mark. Our OKC MWC EQ hit right at 0200hrs Agreed, we felt nothing at the time of the Chandler quake but the other one sure got our attention. Not catastrophic by any means but enough to shake the nerves for a moment or two. Proud to share the basket with you. |

User ID: 25848731 United States 04/16/2013 03:30 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | It's because of the fracking. It's causing earthquakes, sinkholes and poisoning your water supply. You need to get a protest together, soon. Quoting: Talamasca You can pin a finger on what the cause was unless you are at the point of origin in an omniscient point of reference. Even a seismograph can only measure the magnitude of the wave of energy, regardless if it was an "earthquake" or not... no disrespect, to each his/her own CAN'T** Right, except for that area used to never get earthquakes until the fracking began. And fracking essentially is causing little earthquakes to extract natural gas. Cause and effect isn't really that hard to figure out... Talamasca- We watch and we are always here |

Fracking runs into shale's of salt, this salt dissolves and the land starts to cave in. |

(OP) User ID: 24568365 United States 04/16/2013 03:33 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | It was definitely a sudden concussive force, like an impact. I am more used to the rolling wave of the other EQ's we have had. This literally jarred me westward from my chair. Quoting: JustJen 25741088 Same here. Like the whole place just kind of went chug-chug-chug for a ride a few centimeters east to west. Like going for a ride. And then the sort of whiplash in the solar plexus, like Oh shit! then the receding chug-chug-chug. I Support Our First Responders |

Am east of Arcadia and it felt to move north to south here, as well as a friend north of Waterloo on Midwest said it felt north to south as well. About 20-30 seconds, started, built, subsided and peaked again. Heard the rumbling to the south of me for about 30-40 seconds after. |

I live on one right now. My point is, before fracking no earthquakes. With Fracking - Earthquakes Talamasca- We watch and we are always here |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 37899737 United States 04/16/2013 03:46 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Haha...you Americans wouldn't know a big earthquake if it kicked you in the ass. Quoting: Frost_ I lived for several years literally on top of a fault line. Anything below a 5 we greet with a yawn. The problem here is that we have few/small fault lines that are relatively inactive. This is a new (2 yrs) issue for Oklahoma and it is very unsettling. |
