Thanks guys - the funny part is; the people helping to keep this information up are aware of the false-hoods being tossed around.
I do believe a good portion is simply because people honestly don't know and are repeating information thrown around as sensational fact.
The ME and FE situation is trying enough to keep up with - there's no reason to create any additional fear(s) in people by repeating untruths related to the DEFCON system.

I know I find myself doing it and have to go back and reread. Sure - that is very valid. I'm on here a lot, but I'm (typically) doing work the same time. If I take a 20 minute phone call, then there's 20 pages of catching up to do.
