Landslide on Whidbey Island [PICTURES]
Earth Ch-ch-ch-ch-changes (turn and face the strain)
Ch-ch-changes
Don't want to be a richer man
Ch-ch-ch-ch-changes
(turn and face the strain)
Ch-ch-changes
Just gonna have to be a different man
Time may change me
But I can't trace time.

No, but really, we have some more important news in earth changing events. There is 30+ homes in danger of being destroyed off the Washington State island of Whidbey.

[snip]
Residents of a small island in Washington state are coming to grips with the early morning landslide that shocked their community and destroyed at least one home while endangering more than 30 others.

‘I heard something loud, looked out my window and noticed I didn’t have any trees in the front yard anymore,’ said Bret Holmes, whose home was on the edge of the cliff.

He told the News Times that he has been losing ground at his property all morning; there was previously more than 30 feet of land to the bluff’s edge but now there is just 15 feet.
[/snip]

Stranger yet, officials have no idea what caused this massive landslide, as there hasn't been any rain lately.

There are plenty of pictures contained in the link, as long as the full story.

Scary times we're living in.

Eyes open, no fear. Be safe everyone!

Just standing on the edge of something like that must feel wicked surreal. I mean, going to places like the grand canyon where it's been like that so long is one thing, but being on the edge of something that JUST occurred is a whole other thing!

And to have a house right there? ugh...

I, myself, just bought my first house with my girlfriend. It isn't near any cliffs, thankfully. I just couldn't imagine watching something like this happen in my backyard, only feet from destroying everything I own.

I feel so terrible for these people, and any others who happen to be in a similar situation.
