Interestingly enough, the very last segment of the news report seems like a rather bizarre additions to the story, a 'how-to' demonstrating how to set off explosives. Weird. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 12204182 There are going to be a percentage but some amount of them are un-explainable. I think we have no idea what's coming. These sound like footsteps. The "sounds" recorded sound like massive gates being opened. something awakening. And it doesn't seem like a morning person. |

Interestingly enough, the very last segment of the news report seems like a rather bizarre additions to the story, a 'how-to' demonstrating how to set off explosives. Weird. Thank you! What did it sound like? like the vid? Not like the video. It sounded like a timed woomph, woomph, woomph...which went on for at least 20 minutes. I DID come here after hearing it, to see if anyone else was posting about it. I am pretty certain that I did find a thread discussing such things, but, not specific to the NYC area. ---- I was so stunned by the sound, I never thought to record it. The odd thing was that it was a rainy night, possibly a weekend, and although it certainly sounded similar to an extremely loud pile driving noise, the time frame was not during what would be considered contractor's hours. I could not figure the direction of the sound, since it seemed to come from all around. I saw nothing. I was inside my home watching television; the sound was loud enough that it finally caught my attention. If you take a length of heavy rope or chain and swing it in wide circles in the air above you, you'll hear a whoosh sound as it passes your ears from one side to the other. This pile driving sort of sound had some of this whoosh to it, although it could have possibly been the sound cutting through the rain then coming back, once it reached the cloud cover. I do not know what it was, but, it sounded 'other-worldly' enough to have me scan the skies for lights and stuff. I am in Staten Island, a borough of NYC, just across the water from the city. With the heavy cloud cover, it's not inconceivable that the sound carried far, from a distant construction project...but, the time frame was wrong, and I have NOT heard it since, so, if it WAS a job-related sound, only ONE piling would have been driven, which is NOT typical. ooooooooookay, back to thread I go Last Edited by esotericMorgan on 03/22/2013 09:17 AM -- TRUST THE PLAN -- .......WWG1WGA...... ____________________________ still in awe of many things |
