Also about your daughter going to college, avoid that trap altogether. Have her study to pick up a trade instead, medical-field, etc.
The college trap is a huge debt trap, students 80 grand in debt for a Marxist programming award letter *degree*. Millions who have graduated with "Degrees" cannot find one iota of work, are in debt, face possible future debt-camps, prison for never being able to pay.
All the while the interest rises, forever!

Completely rethink, change the paradigm bud. What do people need and want that can benefit you?
If you have enough collateral move to WA state or Co state, grow weed or hemp as it is legal.

Best wishes my fellow-father, American, brother

You are going to be ok. Alright? Be well, adapt and overcome. Do not let emotions of regret, guilt, outrage, whatever rule you.

You are a man, a father. You know emotions are a luxury society does not afford to us.

Adapt and overcome. You will be ok.

I would contact the NRA.

They have deep pockets and may take up a legal fight for you.

Best of luck in the job hunt. A few months from now you will be looking back at this realizing it was the best thing that ever happened to you.

Peace

OP, I agree on the NRA, they can steer you in the right direction. Ask for the legal department...

Well, good luck. Probably they think you are a radical and will get mad and do harm to others or some other fantasy they have (unless you are violent). Do what it takes and find out at least from someone who will give you the straight poop on the subject of policy and termination.

Half of what is wrong with this Country is white-collar management disguising its self at the whims of these shit-heads in Office in this Country.

That's a fact that they think everyone has more Rights when they think so with their whims, but never for the victim.

Fuck 'em!

I violated written company policy against the advertising the sale of ANY weapon utilizing company assets. i.e. the electronic bulletin board I used.

Re: So I posted a gun for sale on my company's electronic bulletin board. UPDATE! I'm Fired!
as a gun owner, prepper, etc, i have to say this was a stupid thing to do. i would never have done this, and if anyone said they were going to do it, i would have advised them against it. what made you think it was a good idea to post a firearm for sale on your companys board? there are plenty of dedicated sites for moving unwanted guns to willing buyers; in florida we have florida gun trader, to name one i am familiar with and have used to my satisfaction.

now, don't flame me, i know posting this on the board was legal, and not hurting anyone, but you really should have thought about it first. that said, sue them. sue them hard, and fast. fast fast fast. the longer you wait, the worse for you it will be.

I'm freaked out really. I'm a single father, daughter is a senior in high school.

The anxiety and uncertainty this is creating is nearly unbearable.

if we had decent representation in this country

we might have been able to get somewhere with having a union representative in most careers

not just in the teaching industry

this might have helped you have a representative you could have gone to

1. to ask if they believed it was ok for you to post this

before you posted it
and or

2. helped you to go speak with the right people on your behalf

i am very familiar with how well many teachers are represented in this country by union representation

my husbands job was saved 6 years ago by a union representative

i pity the worker today

because the human resources is just that

resources to find new employees after the old ones were fired

good luck to you

I would suggest that you ask for a copy of your companies policy manual. If it's not listed in the policies then I'd fight the termination.

Sure hope things get better for you hf

I came back to check this thread hoping to hear that you had managed to get it all worked out and were back to work. I am so sorry that this is not the case. Losing a job is never easy but today’s economy makes it all the more devastating.

I know I’m likely to have a lot of people disagree with me on what I’m about to say. If I were in your position I’d give it a day or two then request a meeting with whoever is in charge of enforcing policy. With much difficulty I would step on my pride and well, grovel. If you could show them that you are genuinely sorry for having broken policy maybe you could get them to reconsider. I would cite the time you have been a productive and valuable employee (assuming this is true) I would agree (even if I didn’t) that I made a mistake and should be made an example of with some sort of repercussions and would willingly submit to a fair punishment.

I have found that by making someone else think that you believe yourself below them you can actually bend them in your favor. You let them believe they are powerful, that they are in control of your destiny. You allow them to think that you will be forever grateful to them for sparing you hardship. What you are providing is an environment where this so called superior can actually for once in his / her life feel superior. By granting you their favor they can feel better about themselves.

I know that the thought of doing this likely makes your stomach turn but the possibility of not being able support you family has to be terrifying. It’s a sad world were we often have to stroke the ego of others just to survive but it is what it is.

Rather you consider my advice of not I wish you the best of luck in this and whatever comes in the days to follow. I truly hope that your future is a bright one.

Write a letter to the NRA and GOA... this story could cause enough waves to get your job back. Not even a write up? Thats bogus.

Isn't that nice?
