The fear of death is the biggest fear of them all, and is never the fear you will manage to remove first.

All fears are somehow connected to the fear of death, its like a big web, where some parts are holding other parts together. You will have to pluck this nest apart piece by piece.

Every fear you have in life is resulting in limitating away ''parts'' of your brain. Your brain doesnt like to think bad thoughts, so when you repress something you dont like to think about you ''lock'' of a way of thinking.

So basically the more fear you remove the more open minded will you be.

You will become more aware!

The more aware you are, the more sincere will you be.

To remove a fear it is KEY to be sincere.

You will never remove a fear withouth being sincere in the process.

You will have to reach a certain point of sincerity to remove the fear of death.

I would think it depended on if the fear did something good like made you avoid getting bit by a snake, rather than did something bad like made you back into a corner so there was no way to escape being eaten by a lion.

Why should fear be good for you?

What does it help to sit here NOW, and be afraid of something that MAYBE will happen in the future?

You live now! Exactly right now!

Fear is deluding you to now see solutions. Fear is a blinding mechanism.

And you dont need fear to tell you not to jump off a 100 yard cliff. Just because you arent scared off it doesnt mean you will do it, you just need to use your brain =)

But what about the fear of falling....I work as a builder on construction sites and that rational fear makes me take precautions and stops me from doing something that may hurt or kill me. Isn't that a good thing?

Why are you so sure that its the fear that is making you taking these precautions? Have you thought about that?

You need to understand fear, and how it works.

Scientific studies show that people who are happy are 30% more effictive than ''normal'' people.

Below that we have fear, which is making it harder for the brain to think cognitive toughts, or to find solutions.

Your brain tells you not to fall down! Not your fear.

Your fear is just an emotion of choice. You could do the exact same thing while being happy.

Its all about being awake!

Imagine that your sitting on your computer, just surfing around. Your not having actually fun, but your not really bored either. Also your not happy, but your not sad either. You are just THERE! This is the most common state of mind to be in, you are in the middle of everything.

You are in a sleeping awake kind of state.

This is the key ^^

If they do not turn off you will have to learn how to turn them off.

Most fears are old fears coming back. Fear is repeating itself constantly every now and then if you dont remove it. You have to understand it, if not it will only go in circles and continue forever.

Breathing properly for example is no voodoo cure, it releases oxygen to the brain making the amygdala (part of the limbic system) to lower its levels. This is also scientifically proved.

This is just one of many tecniques.

You need a reaction list if fear occur, and if it happens you will have to understand it as quickly as possible. Become good at it. Master it! Understand it!

All fears has to be learned. Nobody can become immune of new fears, but they can become aquinted with how to handle them.

Now i dont know what you work with but i presume whatever it is, its not as scary as the first time you did it. You have understood how it works, therefore it is not as scary anymore.

Also its important not to mix respect of dangers with fear.

And im not saying that you are not scared at work, you problably are if you say so =)

I tend to disagree with fear removal.

Try removing your fear of say wild hog, find a nice 250-300lbs one and confront him bare handed... Your lack of fear will cost you a limb or your life.

In the case of a train, removing your fear of it and lying on the track in front of it won't change the fact the 120 ton locomotive will turn you into apple sauce.

Fear is a basic survival emotion and acts as a safeguard for dangerous situations. You must tame it, listen to it and master it as to not let it take control over you, like freezing up (deer in headlights moments).

Do you actually belive that you need fear to stop yourself from attacking wild hogs and running on the railroad?
 Quoting: DontBeAfraidEVER

Well, when hunting hogs, you need to be completely aware of where all your limbs are at all times, keep an eye out on your partner, your dogs. The day you go in all cocky and without fear, you loose a piece of you out there and I don't mean emotionally.

The train example is but a mental image... Which you're not getting.

We selectively do this all the time. Like swimming or driving a car, fear is removed from a dangerous situation because we become complacent. Proof, look at drowning deaths and car related death numbers. Remove fear instead of mastering it = death (worse scenario)

Yep....that's what it is...rational fear.

Basically what you are saying is that if you remove fear, the whole brain stops working :)

I am not afraid of hights, but i dont go around jumping off cliffs or fall from heights anymore than other people.

Also i am not afraid of sharks either, but i would never play waterpolo with a whiteshark.

The list goes on =)

Nothing changes when you remove a fear! You are just as aware of possible ''dangers'' like this as you would be with fear.

Like said earlier, fear is just your emotion of choice.

Evidently, you're theory is flawed. Fear is the driver of awareness of possible dangers.

Re: Ask me about fear!
See that new tv show Highway to Hell on Nat Geo? Where tow truck drivers work in the most dangerous hills in the US?

You would think they're chicken shits as they constantly fear for their lives.
They aren't chicken shits at all in reality, you probably wouldn't get out of the truck where they do.

Fear is not the driver of awarness of possible dangers. All fears can be taught to overcome, and you will still keep your instincts.

Its more about being aware of how to handle the fear, not the dangers. You can know of dangers without fearing them. I know that many things are dangerous that i do not fear.

Ofcourse all emotions are fear and love. A true spiritual awakening is when you reach 100% love. The way fear and love work is by shadowing the other. If there is lots of love, there is less fear. All fear can be qonquered eventually.

And if you think that will make you stupid you better think again. It will clean up your mind like you cant even think off before you get there. Pure stillness, peace in mind!
