It was in late fall and the rain was starting to come down pretty bad so I looked for a secluded spot and setup my pup tent. I was about 21 I guess. After drifting off to sleep I was awaken by a dark figure setting on my chest. I struggled for what seemed like forever but in reality it probably was less than a few seconds. My eyes were open and I could see this strange shadow getting off of me and drifting through my tent wall. It happened over 30 years ago and it still makes my skin craw when I recall it. " Thus saith the Lord; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the Lord." ~ Jer. 17:5 "From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand" |

Remember when you are lucid dreaming you can change the entire dream if want, from demons to puppies and rainbows if you want. It just takes a little practice focusing your will to achieve your desired results "dream". The trick I found to will power is trusting yourself or having confidence in yourself. Simplifying things can help a lot here to keep things in context. And remember in your mind you are capable of anything! Something else you can try is practice wiggling your toes, try to move each on it's own with no movement from the others etc. Next time you have sleep paralysis you'll have a big jump on breaking free by wiggling your toes. And once you do a couple times it's become pretty easy. Granted shadows may be more astral realm type, but the controls are very similar to dreaming from my experience. Meaning you can do some pretty crazy stuff with practice. Edit: to answer the question ;) If you were just reading about the subject it's likely from association. However, a hacked quote from the moth-man prophecies "perhaps they notice you, you noticing them?" which is why you saw the shadow? |

It can be hard, since some of the things you experience like this can be very disturbing. I think that talking and analysing it like you do now helps to overcome any fear of it. I agree that trying to move your body helps aswell this will help you go from paralyse to lucid instead, or even stop your paralysis completely. :) I never tried the toe wiggle, I move my hands up to my face and wave them infront of me, when I see them floaty I know it's a dream and I can go lucid. I have seen a robed figure aswell now that you got me thinking, was black and red robe though, and only saw him once. |

User ID: 33203271 Ukraine 01/28/2013 06:56 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | However, it was during this time that I experienced a vivid lucid experience in dream state. I experienced this exact paralysis that you wrote of. It was during this temporary paralysis that I saw a shadow man crawling with his arms and legs down my ceiling and then down my wall and then appearing to my right side. I sat up in my dreamstate body and watched him. He reached out and took hold of my penis. It was as if he was gaining some sort of pleasure from it and this held me in a paralysis of suspended animation for a few seconds until my dreamstate body threw a left hook directly at his face. I try to be a kind and gentle person, but I've always been something of a scrapper as well. When I saw the situation, I didn't so much feel alarm as I felt anger. This I do not understand. I should have felt fear as the spectre was most frightening. But I didn't. It just sent me into a rage and I started throwing punches until I awoke in a sweat. The next day, my suite mate told me of a similar encounter he had the following night. That is what started the discussion and I told him my story. We came to find out that many other people had such encouters with this entity going back a long way. I have no desire to make up such a story. In fact, I wish I were making it up as it would make it a lot easier for me to just laugh it off when I could claim it was a hoax. But the problem is that I'm not making it up. I think it was shortly after that time that I began a long term quest to find answers and to learn techniques of spiritual protection from such spectres from Biblical Psalms. I have not ever had such an encounter before or since. Last Edited by 10193131 on 01/28/2013 08:05 PM 10193131 |

And it will take military intervention to save your country. Otherwise, it will be sold to Chinese investors and businesses who hire Chinese. This is a covert war. This is a business deal. The Media monopoly and treasonous politicians made it possible as has assassins, bribes, extortion and the Samson Option. The people have no idea their currency is being "killed" by the very govt they elected, essentially destroying the nation's sovereignty. You people need a hero but the heroes are assassinated. The world police is America and America has been infiltrated by the same entity which murders women and children, steals organs from kidnapped people, steals rather than pays for what they want and hold the world hostage to their God intoxicated vision of themselves and their plans (turn us into their slaves, one group at a time). Proj3cted User ID: 53888693 United States 12/31/2014 05:05 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | It's very interesting you mention a "monk" or "hooded" figure. Please bare with me as I promise it won't bore you. I have learned how to astral project through years of trying, often failing or scaring myself back into my body. For those who are familiar you will understand... Well the weird thing about projecting is whenever I get out, I always end up in different times and environments, and I have no idea what it's gonna be until I get outside. I've seen the past, seen what appears to be the future etc. My most recent I ended up floating around in a very odd backyard. There was a pool, and on the other side of the pool was a circle of candles, and I could see a group of about 10 individuals with their heads down doing some kind of ritual. Something felt odd and I could tell my heart rate began to rise, but I wanted to see what they were doing. All of a sudden one of the individuals noticed me and stood up and started walking up to me. He was wearing a hood, and when he stood up he ended up being much much taller than all the others who were bowing. He almost. Appeared to have legs like a large goat or horse, something was strange. He started walking up to me.... Trying to lure me to the group using his arm in a come here motion. From nowhere this woman appeared in my face, who looked like a shaman of some sorts, almost like from Africa or tribal...and started shaking and waiving her arms and hands, and yelling at me "Gooooo!!! Goooo now! Get out here!!!! Goooooooo sir!!!!! Goooooooo". No belong, no belong. At this point I tried to get back to my bed as my heart was going crazy and I began to panic. The creature had made it's way very very close to me and he stared straight into my eyes and he had giant holes where his eyes should have been. My SP was in full force and I couldn't wake myself up, I began to panic, and the woman was screaming loudly in another language. I finally did just enough to get back to my bed, and couldn't shake this for days. I'm literally in anxiety just thinking of that moment. Who were they? Devil worshipers? Why hoods? It was too real... If anyone has similar experience please let me know. If there is good and light in this world, there absolutely is darkness. I saw it. |

User ID: 9281251 United States 12/31/2014 05:51 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Long-time lurker, second-time poster. Quoting: Exorcise This George Carlin said, "Nothing is as boring as listening to another person talk about their dream." I know that if anywhere that statement is not true and people ARE interested in each other's dreams - especially when it comes to sleep paralysis nightmares - it would be the GLP community. Long story short: I had my first ever sleep paralysis episode which included a "visit" from the ubiquitous bedside figure. I am no stranger to nightmares or lucid dreaming; I have one at least one nightmare a month, and every three months or so, I have a nightmare so terrible that my mind has mercy on me – becomes lucid – and I am able to “divert” the attention of the nightmare antagonist until I can force myself to wake up. I was not able to do so this time. I understand that shadow men and old hags are the most common bedside figures. During my dream, I saw a hooded figure, like a monk. Of course, I could not see his face, but he was definitely male. In the dream, I’m sleeping in my bed from my childhood home. I open my eyes and the hooded-figure is standing to my left, in front of my bedroom window. It is night, but the moon is bright enough where I can see his robe is brown and he is holding a pillow. Again, I cannot see his face. He says, “Earth is being invaded. We are putting all of you out of your misery before things get too bad here.” I am not sure if he and his “kind” were doing the invading, or if it was something else doing the invading, and he was working for a third party. I did get the impression that there were billions of him, and one of each of his kind was in every household at that moment to kill everyone on the planet. He then started lowering moving the pillow toward my face in order to suffocate me. I did not get the impression that he was “evil.” Rather, the feeling I got from him was that this was just “business”. However, I think this is what made it all the more frightening because there would have been no negotiation, no pleading, no begging; he was simply there to get a job done – “they” ALL had a job to do, it was nothing personal. As usual, my mind tried to intervene because things were getting too scary. My mind tried to wake itself up, only this time, it wasn’t working. He was suffocating me with a pillow. Then suddenly, my mind woke up, but my body was still being suffocated. I tried to scream (in real life…I think) and tried to move to shake the last vestiges of the dream off, but I could not move. I was completely powerless. At last, my mind and my body finally synced, and I woke up officially, gasping for breath. The nightmare aspect itself is not what's got me shaken up (this was FAR from the worst nightmare "plot" I've ever dreamed), it's the following that's blown my mind: 1. The absolute CLARITY of it; how 3-dimensional it was, for lack of a better term. The fear element was so REAL, that my reaction was stunned disbelief, which I believe is how I would react in real life if I were about to die, not just simple fear, but more like a "OMG this CAN'T be happening, not to ME!!" feeling. The plain old terror of “Aaaaagh, I’m being chased by zombies!” is almost cute compared to this. 2. The fact that I’ve experienced something that I’ve read about from many others, but not quite ever took seriously as a cultural-crossing event. It has been a challenge to my thought system. This must be what a person who sees a UFO or a ghost for the first time might feel like. My question is this: did I experience something which for mysterious reasons millions have experienced throughout history, or did I dream this because it was embedded in my psyche due to reading others’ experiences? Thanks, GLP! Sorry this is so long. You did catch some attention in a prior lucid dream...one you cannot remember. It's an attempt to disrespect and overpower you. When you go back in, reassert your authority over your domain. Congratulations as you work toward this. You are in control. Your papers appear to be in order "It's all fun and games...until we have to cover it up" |
