Why does the air feel so much colder than the thermometer readings this year?

Seems like this year the air temperature feels considerably colder than the thermometer readings. Ive heard so many people say that this year. For example, today its in the low 50s here in north Alabama but it feels like 35. the wind chill reading is 45 but seems like 30 to me.

Also, come to think of the exact reverse is true in the summer. The sun seems so much warmer than the temp says. Ive been noticing that the past few years.
