You can't top kill something like this. You need a physical well to top kill ... the gas is bubbling up from the ground. I'm from northern Canada and up here we call swampy lands "muskeg" If you go to the right area's you can see this naturally occurring phenomenon with natural gas and hydrogen sulfide bubbling up from the ground.

I work in the industry up here, and to see the oil companies just sitting idle pisses me right off. You greedy fucks! Activate the ERP and get the fucking residents the hell away from there. You know where this is headed you cheap pricks!

i remember 6 months ago saying this was going to happen.
there is a huge amount of methane-hydrate under the northern shore of the GOM. i said there would be gas issues the first time they leaked out in the name of the first drill hole as a vent....when they started drilling they called it an exploration well, then one time it was referred as a vent well i said this is about the gas!

well this just has not gone so well for the WELLS down there....so they say they need more wells....

go fix your leaking tire with a DRILL!

or was this a known thing and that area should have never been tapped...like the researchers from FSU said after they did BP's first survey...they told them to NOT drill there...the area was not fit for drilling.
FSU knew it was way to inter-connected to things all the way up under the northern cost of the GOM.

Nitrified cement slurries have their place in the world ... testing a bunk formula on a torquy well was a stupid call IMOP.



Maybe a shitty cement job that has snowballed into what it is now? Texas Brine is claiming an earthquake breached the integrity of their well, and the government experts are saying the earthquakes are a result of the breach and not the cause. Bad cement job, shake the ground up a bit and create micro channels into the brine cavern?

Under such conditions, methane hydrates raised a host of serious problems. Methane gas locked in ice (“fire ice”) forms at low temperature and high pressure, and can often be found in sea-floor sediments.
