Correction Facility Earth - just another matrix/prison theory

What if Earth was just a monument of the destruction of the planet Tiamat, placed in the outskirts of the galaxy, like a graveyard where no one would swing by.

Then some clever person invisions it as the perfect spot for a prison, noone would ever dare to check the monument up close and find out it's actually a prison.

Why is the Earth so diverse, going from one extreme to the other? a work of art? a miracle? a monument/tribute to a bigger planet and better times?

Then we have all the people, all the unwanted, the political and less political prisoners gets dumped here, forced to live a certain cycle then die and be reborn as someone new, never knowing their crime or true identity, keeping us in a loop for aslong as it takes.

Religions and certain spiritual systems are set up to explain our reality and give us a sense of meaning, so we would never ask or wonder.

Maybe that is why some feel the lack of real purpose, since there is no real purpose.
Except the purpose we make for ourselves down here.
We find purpose in the things we do momentarily, when we perform them, but what about the next cycle? where we do the exact same thing again, but why?
