Non union. I didn't pay any wages. I failed to report attendance points. Totally legit reasons if you are a human being and care about your employees.

As a manager for 35 people my people's concerns are my concerns. Since I don't directly contribute to production anymore the least I can do is make their jobs as stress free and easy as possible. Cover asses an take care of them.

My suspension covered my guys. They got no penalties.

If you really did that, it is commendable. I caution you that people take advantage of people like you.

Leave early less than half shift is 2/3 point, more than half shift is 1/3. Sick or call in with no 24 hour notice is 1 point. 6points is probation, and no bonus, 9is fired.

Just a few examples, I cut breaks for sick kids, dying mom, one heart attack, one death in the family. I had to show concern, but HR does not agree.

Some would cover my ass. Their job is to keep production, not cover me. They would help if it was needed. I have a great group of people that work for me. I have total faith in them. They have faith in me that I will stand up for them and do what is right.

My 2 leads know, but can't say anything to the guys. My guys know what I'm about though. Although I'm management and worked my way up, they know I will never sell out. They know something is up.

No, I see what you are saying. My people never asked for a break. I disregarded corporate policy and did what I thought was right for my people and their family's.

I made the judgement call and am the only one to blame. I screwed up and am paying the price.

If the hat was to be passed if I had lost my job, I have no doubt that I would be overwhelmed with generosity.

In the corporate world today it's hard to be human it seems.
