Naked as well as a lot of them are too sweet for me. The Trader Joes one is not nearly as sweet also less gritty I like it better but I'm sure a lot of people may prefer Naked and Bolthouse Farms also makes one too. I'm sure this is the best method anyways. Grab a variety of green leafy vegetables. Kale, Spinach, Chard, Romaine etc Add broccoli, cucumber, and celery Add green fruit apples, pears, kiwis Ginger, lemon and select herbs are also a great addition. Run them through a juicer or blender and I'm sure its healthier and definitely fresher then all the store bought ones. You can also add or remove ingredients. Experiment try it out!!! :-) "Only one candle left to burn now, before the darkness comes" "Happiness consumes itself like a flame. I just tried the beet/purple carrot drink they have at Trader Joes I noticed their exotic juices are cheap. It was 1.99 can't beat that! It tastes like v8 but without the spice. Very interesting beets assist in detoxifying. Last Edited by _Obsidian_ on 12/31/2012 10:11 PM "Only one candle left to burn now, before the darkness comes" "Happiness consumes itself like a flame. I'm going to peruse the produce department tomorrow and see what I can find. Raw cranberries could be tossed in with apples for a bit of zing too. Grapefruit are just great.. with no added sweetener fresh juiced grapefruit is not bitter at all. Just adding one grapefruit a day results in weight loss, even with no other changes to diet. Anonymous Coward User ID: 4734594 United States 12/31/2012 10:28 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Make your own. There is a unit, 700 watts, that is sold under a number of brand names and at different price points. If you start looking around, you'll come across it. It's a good one. Stay away from processed foods. Do your own cooking and keep it pure (as can be these days, all things considered). Just doing your own juicing will pay dividends nearly immediately apparent. To offset the vegetables be sure to put some apple and lemon in there to make it tasty... as well as healthy. Too many people don't know this tip, this, "secret," and have a rough time keeping to it. A couple apples and a lemon in the mix make ALL the difference in tasting good.... so you'll want to keep it up. |

I've traveled and learned tricks of cooking from many parts of the world. My own food is the tastiest... to me. I generally stick to techniques, things I picked up in various parts of Asia, and some things learned from people from Mexico, Cuba, Central America. |

I'm telling you.. this has completely turned around my lethargy and fatigue problem! I'm amazed! I don't think my doctor is going to like it very well when I tell her it was Q10 that solved my energy problem, and not her antidepressant. I'm just astounded that they would prescribe a pharmaceutical solution when it's the main component in energy production, and levels decrease rapidly with the onset of aging. It's almost criminal not to suggest q10 supplementation. ....... This oil-soluble, vitamin-like substance is present in most eukaryotic cells, primarily in the mitochondria. It is a component of the electron transport chain and participates in aerobic cellular respiration, generating energy in the form of ATP. Anonymous Coward User ID: 4734594 United States 12/31/2012 10:51 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | A blender is also good for preparing juice. You get everything that way. Often you'll have a thicker, "jam," and just put some in a cup, glass, add some water... good to go. Both a good juicer and a good blender have their places. The uptake in energy levels and overall feeling of well being, uptick in health levels, is amazing in consuming your own juiced concoctions. I'll be doing some broccoli, some spinach, some beets (powerful stuff, beets), some celery, some tomatoes, some carrots, couple apples, a lemon in that 700 watter. We currently have some strawberries, blackberries, blueberries done up in a blender in a mason jar in the fridge. |

A mini-blanch. Not to cook, but to kill off any bacteria hiding in all the branches, folds, crevices of those two. Don't cook. |

I'm very curious no if it works that quick! That sounds amazing! I was doing 600mg tabs and noticed nothing ? There are two kinds of CoQ10.....make sure you get the trans form fermented type. Best price I found was at amazon [link to www.amazon.com] yw. should have mentioned.. it's fat soluble so best taken with food. and don't take this before bed if you hope to rest soundly. I'm going to give it a shot!!! Is there a specific brand you take. Also, what milligram is it? Well I'm taking the Vitamin Shoppe store brand.. one 100 mg. capsule. I know there are more expensive and potent brands out there, but I've gotten a huge boost on the days I take this one. |

Been fluoride free for about 15 years now. My kids have never touched a toxin. They are way beyond their peers because they are normal. Most other kids are damaged at the whim of their belligerently ignorant and self-righteous parents. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 24813912 Eating organic is the minimum standard. Cancel your television if you 'can't afford it'. Calorie restriction is the next step. 3 meals a day is a glutinous atrocity. Ain't that the harsh truth. Cancelling ones cable is worth investing the extra money into eating healthy in my opinion as well. Dwindling down the "extras" is always wise. I don't blame people unfortunately many are slaves to tradition and they are victimized because of all the deceitful marketing ploys. To be honest lot of people in these times can barely afford top ramen. Times are tough and I have a lot of empathy as I am barely scraping by these days myself. Sympathy for economic hard times...but if you are down to ramen and I've been there myself, please consider legumes as a staple, dirt cheap food instead. Split peas and lentils cook in thirty minutes, so you save on electricity. |

I like black beans best. Garbanzo beans (aka chick peas) and other things (cilantro, parsley, onions, garlic, cumin, coriander, salt, pepper, flour) to make falafel, some flour to make some flat bread, make up some white sauce, tomatoes, lettuce.... eating tasty and healthy does not have to be prohibitively expensive. Don't get me started on the benefits of making my own very healthy and very tasty pizzas.... I'll never go back to store or shop bought. |

My new years resolution is a juice diet as much as I can. I feel so much better. I am hoping I can drop some weight as I enjoy the juices. I picked up Bolthouse and Naked brands. My favorite so far has been the Odwalla Superfood. People I know would bet money I would never eat or drink things like beet juice, spirulina, wheat grass, barly grass and all the strange things on the label. I have given up Pepsi & pops and finally red meat. I think the new year is going to ok for me. This is a nice thread. |

Coffee, chocolate, cayenne pepper (the heat is important in this), cinnamon, milk. I was deathly ill in a country other than the U.S. Had to have intravenous infusions due to dehydration. Death's door a number of times. The doc even infused some things that I could actually feel circulating through the bloodstream. I could actually feel what was infused going through the body, up and down. Wild. That helped. This concoction was instrumental in turning the corner to health and revitalization. I made it hot, as in the cayenne. And, I agree... this really is a great thread. |
