Does it taste much different from plain old yellow corn. Which I love btw haha "Only one candle left to burn now, before the darkness comes" "Happiness consumes itself like a flame. Tastes just as good as the yellow one... but better because you know you aren't funding monsanto et al... Thailand has many many organic projects going, food is everything here. More important than money! In fact a standard greeting is 'have you eaten yet?' in place of 'how are you?' |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 30541593 This is not typical Indian corn its a special kind that took them 25 years to create. This one is very iridescent its remarkably different. It's All Natural And Not A GMO!!! Thank you for the link!!! They have two options at the bottom of where to buy the seeds. Wow!!! These are sooo unusual!!! In the first image it kind of looks like those chewy peppermint candies! Ha, yeah the starlight mints candies. It does kinda look like that. I've grown purple corn in the past, seeds from Mexico, and they grew to about 12 feet tall. Last Edited by Half Past Midnight on 12/31/2012 08:06 PM |

It's All Natural And Not A GMO!!! This rainbow corn variety just like most produce on the market isn't true wild food thats connected to nature. It may be nonGMO, but it's still the result of man messing with nature by using selective breeding techniques in agriculture. It's not like nature just pops this colorful corn out of the ground! It took years for it to look like that. |

It's All Natural And Not A GMO!!! My indian corn looks a lot like this. I bought a lot of seeds and mixed them years ago, and have been saving the seeds ever since. It is possible to eat them in the milk stage as sweet corn. It won't be as sweet or tender as the new super sweets, and they are only edible as sweet corn for a very short time, but it does taste good. Or one can leave them on the plant to dry and grind them for cornmeal. Or use for animal feed (chickens) or to feed squirrels. |

It's All Natural And Not A GMO!!! I gotta get me some of that. And the LORD spake, saying, "First shalt thou take out the Holy Pin, then shalt thou count to three, no more, no less. Three shall be the number thou shalt count, and the number of the counting shall be three. Four shalt thou not count, neither count thou two, excepting that thou then proceed to three. Five is right out. Once the number three, being the third number, be reached, then lobbest thou thy Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch towards thy foe, who being naughty in My sight, shall snuff it. I am an evil giraffe, and I shall eat more leaves from this tree than perhaps I should, so that other giraffes may die. |

It's All Natural And Not A GMO!!! When I saw this thread back in December, I went to the Native Seeds website and got on the waiting list to buy the glass gem corn. Yesterday I finally got the email saying that they were going to start selling it, so I bought my little pack online. The email said that over 7,000 people signed up on the waiting list! They will only sell one pack to each person on the waitlist, and it only has about 50 seeds. But it made me happy! So OP, thanks for the thread! |
