My 130 pound German Shepard...

Thank you. We have him trained so that when we say " watch him" and point at someone or even the tv he will curl his lip and show his teeth and do a deep belly growl. He is awesome.

He loves kids and puppies too.

He is mutant huge. 6 years old now and has no hip displasia. He hikes with us every weekend and he caries his own doom bag. He is healthy as a horse and almost as big. His vet loves seeing him. She says he is the best tempered GSD she has ever seen.

I raise Long Haired German Shepherds. Retired this year. I have 7 very loving and incredibly smart loyal ones. Nothing beats a German Shepherd. Once you own one there's really no other breed you would rather have.

I love mine to death. They really look after me also.

Bless your heart!! I brush him 3 times a week, and vacuum every day. The Reg is a mostly inside dog. The shedding is crazy. I couldn't imagine 7 long hair pups around.

Dogs are so awesome. Of course he knows when you need love. That's why there are so many therapy dogs. They have have a definite positive physiological effect on people.

They are soooo intelligent. The number of words they can learn is mind boggling. Sometimes you don't even need words. They just "know".

My dog "finds" things. When I tell him to find his ball, he'll bring me one. If it's a green one, I tell him, "not that one, find the blue one", and he gets it. If he drops it in front of me I tell him to put it in my lap, and he does.

Better stop now. It's hard to turn it off when talking about our loving and loved dogs.

That is awesome. Reggie's favorite toy is a big red Kong ball. We can hide it anywhere and he will find it within a few minutes. They are so smart.

Awwwww OP, he sounds wonderful! I Love, Love, Love Dogs, it's weird you mentioned weight, that's a big pup, my son weighed out Charlie Christmas Day for fun and he weighs 85 LBS. I thought he weighed a lot. LOL

Love the shepherds. We are on our third...beautiful and smart ninety five pound spayed female, twelve months old. Can't wait til she quits chewing! Otherwise the ultimate family dog.

His dad was a papered all black GSD normal sized. His mom was the biggest GSD I have ever seen. She had papers too.

I have a giant friend who happens to be Mexican. (Normally a small breed) he does not have papers, but he is big.

Reggie is not fat but he s big. Just saying.

He could be GSD and wiener dog mix. Papers be damned. He is bad ass. Don't care what he is considered to stuck up people. I don't take him to shows. I just love him.

Good for you. My dog is 98 lbs. and skin and bones (imo).
Right now that's ok, because he's just over a yr. old and I don't want him carrying too much weight on his hips at this age and the vet says he's fine. But he looks ultra thin. Solid muscle but still thin.

Ignore the ignorant morons in this thread. I have a registered GSD too, both parents Sch3, and I can trace his roots back all the way to the first GSD. He is working lines.

He's only 120lbs though... very fit.

I'm pretty sure 50 pounds of him is spare fur.
