Prolonged Adderall abuse can change the chemical nature of the brain and cause suicidal thoughts.

Fair enough, but keep in mind, it is difficult to find a contemporary psychiatrist who doesn't claim the same outcome for cannabis use (progression to psychosis), and we both know THAT isn't true. Also keep in mind that caffeine psychosis is as common as amphetamine psychosis, and neither of these are considered likely among (ab)users. Amphetamine "abusers" frequently are on long binges before psychosis creeps in. Even seasoned methamp addicts do not necessarily ever experience amphetamine psychosis. It really is much rarer than most people think.
