Quoting: Anonymous Coward 25374084 The wish for their people to only be "spoken to" by their leaders, while their slaves shut up. Is U.S. the same? They're not paranoid, they are trying to maintain social order. There has been panic buying recently in a couple of provinces - this sort of behaviour causes bigger problems as it can mean ordinary folk who don't give a rat's arse suffer when shops run bare because of irrational herd mentality of others. Wouldn't it be a lot easier to limit purchases per buyer? Where's the need to arrest people for freely speaking of their thoughts and fears? I just think the arrests are slave herding. |

So it is not the information the govt is worried about, it is the irrational, panic behaviour they were trying to incite. It's happened before in China, in fact happens all round the world, but in China, you really don't want half a billion people whipped into a herd mentality that feeds upon itself because people will feel like they will miss out on supplies unless they don't join in. |
