A great man who seems to be fighting for his life tonight (for us it's tonight, for South Africa it's already 12-12-12)

Lets hope the oriental view of 12-12-12 being a very lucky date holds true for Nelson.

My prayers and thoughts go out to him right now... a great man who definately made a mark on his country and the world.

Nelson Mandela's wife says "the sparkle has gone out of his eyes." she is very concerned for his life.

Like most here, I've been hugely cynical about our so called leaders. But Mandela was different. I don't think he had an 'agenda'. What you see was what you got.

I agree AC... he was a man who truly cared and didn't try to portray something he wasn't.

This monument was erected to him recently.. Absolutely beautiful and unique.

Mandela was a man who made a difference while alive. I fear for the hell hole South Africa will become when he dies. Dictator Zuma will emerge just as sure as that PoS did in Zimbabwe.

I really thought this man would get some respect on this site for his caring and honesty as a man who dedicated his life to make his country and our world a better place to live... he lived what many on this site say should be done in our countries, to topple TPTB.

OP I hope you didn't read one of the previous threads about his hospitalization. Very terrible things were said about him.

I wish him a thorough recovery. He's an amazing person to read about. Very inspirational.

I hadn't realized there had been previous threads about Nelson's current illness.

To say something bad about Nelson Mandela would be awful.. this man really lived what he believed and didn't lie or cheat or pound his chest to do it. He just very quietly and humbly did it.

I think you have a valid fear unfortunately. There are reports of trouble to come, should Nelson not make it out of this alive, as you have indicated.
