anybody else quitting weed?
Been smoking for 7 years, every.single.goddamn.day, without fail.. I used to smoke heavily during the day and then heavily during the night due to the brutal insomnia, over the past 6yrs or so I've been battling with IC, IBS, and lots of other symptoms relating to my bodys mechanisms.. I knew in the back of my head they were being caused by the MJ, my body feels so intoxicated frmo all the smoke, I have to piss and shit constantly because my body feels like it's rotting on the inside, my skin became discolored, patchy, I developed rosacea and age spots on my face(im only 26) I've lost the sense of smell, my nose is constantly clogged and it feels like my sinuses are so swollen they touch my brain, every morning I cough so hard I nearly puke, feels like lung cancer and it only goes away when I get the first toke of the day, not to mention the emotional symptoms such as depression, anxiety, etc.. the past few months I reached a tipping point, no longer could I enjoy it because I would get brutal heartburn everytime I smoke, I can tell weed has destroyed my stomach's mechanisms and now it's making my stomach acid come up every single time I smoke.. I used to smoke to deal with these problems even though I knew smoking was the cause.. due to weed's ability to somehow 'settle your stomach', as soon as the high is gone I was left with pain though, so I was stuck in a relentless vicious circle..

Yesterday I smoked and had heartburn so bad I was about to go to the ER because I thought I couldn't breathe and I was gonna die, it lasted hours and hours.. I'm still recovering from it, I feel like I've destroyed my body with smoke and it can no longer handle it.. I love weed, I love the feeling, I love how it picks me up when I feel down, but it's hurt me so much, it's like loving a woman who cheats on you.. setting a substance on fire and inhaling it will NEVER be good for your body.. and I've only smoked regular weed a handful of times in my life, I always smoke super high-grade stuff, it doesn't matter, it's still smoke and chemicals..

Today I decided to quit weed, please wish me luck...

Have you ever thought about eating cannabis? It doesn't have to be smoked. Vaporizing?

I don't think you should quit...try another means of delivery. Your symptoms don't sound "weed" related to me...maybe something else.

Did it, as my body started to reject it. I used it as a tool to start my spiritual Journey, now I'm feeling the high without it, the spiritual high.

People just smoke too much.. it cuts the oxygen off from your tissues... any smoke will do that. Just smoke once a week and you wont build a tolerance or have nearly as many negative side effects.

Just cut down and stop smoking so damn much, sheesh. If you can't just go cold turkey then try for once a week, then once every 2 weeks, etc.

Trust me it's weed.. I don't do any other drugs, I'm healthy, fit, I work out everyday and I eat a healthy diet.. I can tell the massive amounts of smoke I've ingested have built up inside my body and wreaked havoc on my stomach and intestines.. it's really easy to keep the habit going and not realize what youre doing to yourself till its too late.. especially since weed numbs your stomach when you get high..

Ive been thinking a lot about eating.. but I really just wanna stop for good.. its been years and years and years of smoking every single day of my life, Ive had enough, I feel like a total slave and I just keep hurting myself with it..

Man, it's not the weed itself, it's THE SMOKE!

My father had exactly the same symptoms especially high acid in stomach, rhinitis (and generally irritated mucous membranes), chest pains.

We bought Volacano Vaporizer and ALL symptoms disspaeared in a matter of 2 weeks.

Just don't buy a cheap vaporizers, buy a Volcano.

Yea, there are literally THOUSANDS of marijuana overdoses EVERY.SINGLE.DAY.

Many times, people will OD on marijuana from just looking at pictures of it. That's how deadly it is.

It's really sad how devoted some ppl are too weed..

I gotta say, I had never done this until yesterday but I looked up 'weed giving me IBS symptoms' on google, I was so surprised to find this huge thread at one of these weed message boards, I forget which one, but it was a massive thread and there was basically a shitload of ppl testifying that MJ was destroying their stomachs and giving them awful IBS, heartburn, among other things..

In that same thread there was quite a few ppl insulting the rest, saying the thread should be taken down, saying the afflicted ppl were lying... as if it wasn't even allowed to speak about the negatives of weed..

trust me, I LOVE weed.. I still do.. but it HURTS me, what am I supposed to do??

Think about it logically, weed is a plant, plants have chemicals in them, you're setting it on fire and inhaling smoke.. how can it possibly not hurt you in some way?

I am sure that you can live a normal life smoking once a week, but for some us, weed took hold of our souls and we couldn't even go one day, sometimes even one hour, without smoking.. that is NOT enjoyable AT ALL...

Re: anybody else quitting weed?
I have crohns but was not due to the MJ, neither is your IBS. IBS and Crohns etc are a result of your parents vaccinations when they were younger mate.

Quitting weed will not solve your stomach problems at all, however if you think it will then go ahead and try. You will be better off with aloe vera juice which I often take.

I did give up smoking MJ for around 6 years or so but started again and have one or two smokes before bed to help me sleep.

I have been smoking weed on and off for 25+ years, never ever had a problem.

I know man.. trust me Ive been looking at vapes... but I also reached a point where I was like why the fuck should I keep investing money on a drug habit and buy a several hundred dollar device just to keep getting high? yeah I can vape it instead of smoke it.. and that might help me with the physical symptoms.. but the mental aspect of it is huge too, the dependency.. it feels terrible TO HAVE to get high..

Some ppl can actually smoke once a week, I cant, otherwise I wouldve been doing that instead of smoking every single day for almost a decade, weed is addictive as fuck, the only difference with other drugs is that you can live a relatively normal life while still maintaining the habit..

Re: anybody else quitting weed?
None of those symptoms are weed related, and you probably have a much deeper health problem. Never once have I ever had a negative effect before, during, or after smoking. And I've been smokin since I was 12 so going on 10 years now. Take it from a cigarette smoker, when I don't smoke weed and don't have that cough to get all that phlegm out, I throw up because of instead of coughing it out, I swallow it. That's the kinda shit that destroys your stomach. Weed does not harm the body anymore significantly than drinking from your tap would. Probably less actually.

What I did was I switched to synthetics. Didn't have a problem with weed but the synthetics get you way higher. Good nug in my state isn't really affordable at the frequency in which I smoke.

Dude just get some prilosec and no more heartburn. You have GURD. Its common. I doubt the heartburn or IBS is caused from the weed but probably from a host of other things, GMO food. If it was more people would be complaining of it. Change your diet. Everything in moderation.

Re: anybody else quitting weed?
OP, what the hell?

Don't any of you realize that Weed does not have to be smoked always to achieve its effects? It can be eaten as well as vaporized and many other methods of delivery (lollipops, lip balms, etc!)

I personally vaporize weed, and VERY RARELY do I roll a joint or blunt and my lungs feel like new.

Try vapeworld.com and look around at all the options you have. My favorite is the magic flight launch box, that little thing is so stealthy. It can be done anywhere in public literally, it doesn't smell and you'll save money in the end because of the amount of weed you need for it is very small compared to rolling a joint or anything else.

Come on people, get with the times already and get away from smoking.

I'm goddamned tired of hearing all you people complain about giving up weed because you're having all kinds of health problems - STOP SMOKING IT AND DO IT IN A HEALTHIER MANNER - VAPORIZE THAT SHIT! Your lungs and health will thank you, plus you keep the benefits of doing weed!
