Anonymous Coward User ID: 19049477 United States 12/07/2012 09:31 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | We need equal tax BURDEN. Get it? It's not the amount that matters, but the burden it places on our lives. When paying your taxes threatens your ability to keep a roof over your head, or have transportation, or food, or education for your children, and not worrying that one illness will bankrupt you and destroy your life - that's more burden than when someone else can't afford the summer homes, etc. No matter if the tax rate is 35, 39 or even 50 percent, the people who make enough to be placed in that category will NEVER feel the burden that someone making 40k a year does. |

RAND PAUL: I have yet another thought on how we can fix this. Why don't we let the Democrats pass whatever they want? If they are the party of higher taxes, all the Republicans vote present and let the Democrats raise taxes as high as they want to raise them, let Democrats in the Senate raise taxes, let the president sign it and then make them own the tax increase. And when the economy stalls, when the economy sputters, when people lose their jobs, they know which party to blame, the party of high taxes. Let's don't be the party of just almost as high taxes. Took longer than I thought. Its cool man, I get it, you aren't intelligent enough to think for yourself. One day, when you grow up, and see this is all a farce, maybe you'll remember the day you disagreed with Rs and Ds being different sides of the same coin. I do remember the days when Republicans and Democrats existed. They still do. Only those that would rather bury their heads in some slime pool rather than accepting the fact that they are the root of the problem. Those that truly believe that it makes no difference are those that are so self centered, self rightous, so demented, that they actually believe themselves to be correct simply because it takes too much effort to actually think on their own instead of allowing others to think for them. I have been on this earth sixty years, and I have seen a lot. But never have I seen such a piss poor collection of dim-wits and assholes as I do now. Everyone wants to point a finger at someone, but no one wants to look at why or whom they are pointing. It requires too much thinking and people today don't have time to think because they are too busy texting on their phones, catching up with each other on facefraud and twitterless, they have have forgotten how to have a life. How about this for a change. Grow up and get a life! Seems to me you are the one doing the finger pointing. I instead of blaming others for any misfortune that comes to me, I look at the path that I took that brought the misfortune to me. Simple example, my car got hit while parked, the person did not leave a note. Am I mad at them, nope, I parked it there (in a parking spot, with a meter, enough distance between the car behind me and the one in front), so in the end that is my fault. You know how you and others or your ilk would have looked at it? Some welfare person, without a job, hit my car, probably didn't have insurance, nor a liscence, so the bum didn't leave a note. Like I said, when you grow up, maybe you'll start to see things for what they are. I do see very very well. I also see a whole lot of assholes that think that they have a right to destroy what they can't understand. I was there when the by-word was "can't we just get along", and laughted when it all came crashing down on their ears. You want to get along, but only if it suits your idea of what it should be. Lets go back to your anology. Your car got hit, but since you left it there, properly placed and in an area that should have provided some measure of protection, you don't get mad, because after all, you put it there. So, you don't get mad, don't do anything. Next day someone else's car gets hit, and the day after, all because no one thought that it should be worth making a fuss about, because after all, you all put the car there. Then it turns out that there is some nut going around telling everyone that he should have a right to smash your cars because he can only afford his piece of crap for a vehicle. He continues to smash cars because, after all you have the nice car you bought and paid for with your own hard earned money and he really does have a piece of shit for a car, so it is betteer to let him smash all the good cars so that his won't look so fucking bad. |

And I can't believe that some actually rally behind the idiots that continue to promulgate this false dichotomy. When one side says to let the other side raise taxes so that the people will take notice the net result is still taxes that are raised! Don't trust politicians who are willing to play the game for a future "gotchya!" I have no doubt that taxes are going up. But I am even more sure that spending will go up more than the taxes collected. The end result will be fewer employed and more of the rich that can afford to leaving the USA. Is this what you really want? Well, I guess if we are going down I suppose the faster the better. And this administration is hell bent on getting us there on the A train.
