February 1, 2006 -- Anti-Bush rally draws hundreds of protestors at U.S. Capitol during Bush SOTU address. Hundreds of protestors braved cold winds last night to protest George W. Bush's State of the Union address. The protest, called "The World Can't Wait: Bush Step Down," was confined to a free speech zone at the reflecting pool on the west side of the Capitol. Cindy Sheehan was scheduled to address the protest but she received an invitation to sit in the House galleries. However, after U.S. Capitol Police discovered that Sheehan was wearing an anti-war T-shirt, she was arrested and manhandled out of the House and jailed. Challenge to members of Congress: how many members will wear an anti-war T-shirt on the floor of either the House and Senate and face arrest by U.S. Capitol Police Terrance Gainer's thugs? Or has the rump Congress now been officially declared a "no free speech zone."

Where are the FEMA trucks? Not in New Orleans where they're needed. They were at the Capitol last night keeping an eye on protestors.

SOTU occurred in the House chamber, to the right of the Capitol Dome.

February 1, 2006 -- Tomorrow, the annual National Prayer Breakfast in Washington, DC will be held. This is far from a "prayer breakfast." With its roots in fascist politics of the 1930s, the National Prayer Breakfast has become a Davos-like summit for the "Christian Mafia." Read WMR's report on the prayer breakfast's sponsoring organization, "The Fellowship." npr-bush.jpg (35227 bytes) Annual National Prayer Breakfast: It cleverly hides its Nazi and Fascist roots |
