Was "kitty" fixed? If and when it returns I highly recommend that you spay or neuter. It will discourage staying out for long periods of time and looking for mates.
Hoping your reunion is soon.

He has never been a "tomcat" in terms of roaming or spraying. He just liked to wander our backyard (5 acres) usually within earshot of us.
