Eastern Pa here so far so good high winds but power holding out so far...i think we have a couple hours to make it through the worst...we are on the "windy" side not as much rain as southern Pa

I really thought hard about that, but, having a central database of damage can be a very useful tool for both now AND in future storms.....

I have always liked knowing the BIG PICTURE.

Case in point. My family near Birminham, Alabama & just NW of Atlanta are currently experiencing high winds from this same system.

I think that adds to the scope of this event.

Quebec here. Hail just started up then stopped. Sorry I cant report on damage but we are already getting some of the nasty weather.

just filled what water jugs I have with water.

What part of quebec? we have not had any rain yet downtown.

Do you think you might get massive snow, as some were predicting yesterday?

If this happens, I hope that after the initial problems, you will at least have something beautiful to see afterwards.

Maybe 10 minutes ago, my son told me he saw a bright yellow flash in the sky. He assured me that is was not from a local transformer. Curious. Our power came on a little while later.

Our local power keeps going off, then on.

I've made bigger wind after a bowl of chile than Sandy "the dreaded VORTEX" has...

But 5* OP, hope it continues to be a storm with minimal damage...

TV is showing some flooded coastal area's, but that's nothing unusual, just means our taxpayer subsidized flood insurance fund will get raided again...

I am empathetic to hurricane woes, as I've been through a bunch of them. But, if your posting on the Internet, then this storm is nothing serious for you. I've been without water and power for a month from a hurricane.

Lower Brooklyn in NY under three feet of water. Coney Island Hospital is on fire. The NYFD can't get there - too much water. No power as well.

No damage that I can see yet. Wind has REALLY picked up in the last few hours though.

Speaking for the ones so far that cannot as they do not have any means to.

Southern coastal Massachusetts is without any electricity and for the most part cannot speak up.

At 80mph or near there-some of us know you can barely open a door to let people in or out.

Looks like the flooding is the big issue with this storm so far...
