BIGGEST OXYMORON EVER........."LIBERAL ECONOMIST"

I majored in Econ and had no less than two "liberal" economists.
The worse of the two got into a HUGE argument with some dude during class to bitch at him for supporting the Fair Tax Act.

She was a huuuge douchette.

They are literally backwards on economics.

How muslims are to social issues and womens rights, liberals are to economics.

This is what I tried to find a clip of. It's the first thing I thought of when I read the thread. From a "The Simpsons" episode.

One inmate whined all he did was drive a truckload of explosives over the Canadian border. One old coot claimed he was the last registered Democrat. He then blathered, “Tax and spend. Tax and spend”, a clear indication he was out of his mind.

Well if you read about a Liberal economist from the 1920s or '30's, it's the opposite of 21st century liberal politics.

A culture equating "liberal" with "Socialist" makes studying our 19th and 20th century very dificult.

Without some understanding of history, we won't be able to see the pattern repeat.

Fact: In 2007 under the Bush tax cuts, the united states government collected more in revenue than any other year in American history.

I know that doesn't allign with all the talking points you buy into...but facts is facts.

You're only focusing on the cuts and not everything else that was done. Tax cuts don't make any sense unless you lower spending as well.
That would be why we fail. Nobody can agree on what should be done, so they mix the two styles of economics together to create a tragedy.

Yep. It's the mental disorder of political correctness. Economics is basically math and math is not affected by political correctness or stupid social engineering opinions.

No matter how you do the math, taking from one group to give to another is simple addition and subtraction and only works until the first group runs out of money.

Yeah, the biggest problem I had was that the lib-economists were VERY strict about the formulas. They dealt in the black and white when it's not always that simple. Putting a policy into effect is always going to pose more issues than you can foresee in the class. They just replace one problem with another.

My favorite econ prof once said, "It's an Economist's job to say It depends."
