Awesome books, loved them. Started reading them when only the first 3 were out, and the wait was agonizing. Then hearing of Jordan's death in 2007 from amyloidosis was heartbreaking. A genius; essentially wrote the story from the end to the beginning, although I have to admit that the first transition book from Jordan to Sanderson was jarring.. There were terms that Sanderson used that Jordan had never used, but I was pleased to note that the subsequent books were more of Jordan's style.

FYI you get sucked in there is a bunch of stuff you catch on the re-read you didn't notice the first time through. Amazing series

There was an account of an NDE, discussed here, where a guy said he was in a place with a giant wheel or clock like mechanism that was meant to sort out people and situations. It did not care where you were sorted, just that you would be sorted. Where you landed, that was your fate. In NDE, you never shuffled out of your original slot when the mechanism turned, so you came back. Otherwise, you would get resorted to a new life.

It explained a bit why people, on rare occasions, come back extemporaneously into other people's bodies, people who have been I'll or had an BEE themselves, and don't know that persons families but remember their own.
