The Turkish plane was not shot down by any Russians or any anti-aircraft missile system because three days prior to this, a Syrian pilot was paid to defect with his aircraft to Jordan and then they removed the transponder unit from that aircraft and flew it to Turkey and installed it on the F4 Phantom so they could sneak past the missile defense systems. How's that working out for ya? oh wait--it didn't! The Christian General who was killed some weeks after the F4 Phantom was shot down, gave the order to shoot down any aircraft that enters into Syrian Airspace right after finding out about the Syrian aircraft that defected to Jordan. The Turkish plane was shot down by Syrian anti-aircraft machine gunners who went on shift, oddly enough, after watching Star Wars and the scene where Luke Skywalker in the Millennium Falcon shoots down the evil Empire's Tie fighters. How ya like dem apples?
