This comet will pass the sun in November, 2013 and then approach even closer to earth by Dec. 29th 2013 The projected magnitude of this comet on November 29 is going to be nearly MINUS 7 (-7.0). Hale Bopp, according to Wikipedia, made it up to a magnitude of +2 and it was quite bright! -7 is crazy bright. This will be a history maker. I saw one of them go 10x brighter than the rest and then fade but it was still there. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 19656291 If you've never looked up and really study what goes on up there, I highly recommend you go out and check it out. If you live in the city it would be worth driving to the country to get away from the light pollution. How is this related to 2012 S1(ISON)? Intention to derail the thread? Stay at the topic or STFU. Even though it's going to be Southern Hemisphere for a while, the lining-up with Dec 21st 2012 really convinces me that i'm on the right path, that Dec21st isn't doom, but the end of "Normal" time for the last age. We will enter a crossover period of 7 years called "Tribulation" in the Bible, where the old powers try desperately to keep it even though it is utterly futile, they have no choice but to try everything. After 7 years, a new Age begins officially, the cosmic conditions being right to do so, on the other side of merdian. Nothing will stay the same! Amazing. |

An object TWICE the size of JUPITOR is huge! If/when it zips past our sun it comes between earth and our sun. Talk about earthquakes! In my opinion, this object is wormwood/nibiru/planet x etc.. This is also the beginning of what the Mayan's called the "new sun" or "sixth sun" or "the next age." The last time this came around (roughly 5200 years ago) it erased all past recorded history. Civilization was thrust into survival mode. Everything moved somewhere, up/down, north to south, south to north, poles, continets etc.. Twice the size of Jupiter does not mean twice the mass of Jupiter. The comet will have minimal (if any) effect on other objects in the Solar System. ^This. A comet's coma can even rival the sun itself in size, but it contains negligible mass. It's just a giant and very tenuous cloud of dust and gas. As ice sublimates from the comet, it carries away bits of material with it and this forms a huge cloud around the comet. The coma is not gravitationally bound to the comet, so it just keeps expanding. The coma is blown back by the solar wind to form the tail, though minor comets or comets that are too far from the sun do not outgas enough to form a noticeable tail (larger dust particles that are not as affected by the solar wind tend to remain in the orbital plane of the comet and form a disc instead, the front end of which is seen as the "antitail" on some occasions when viewed edge-on to the comet's orbital plane). Ultimately the size is just a function of how much the comet is outgassing. |
