Mass protest in Japan against US hybrid aircraft (OSPREY!)
In Japan we have at the moment 3 big Issues,
Nr. 1. Nuclear Power
Nr. 2. US-American Military
Nr. 3. Money Problems

Yesterday we had a big Demonstration in Okinawa and in Tokyo,
both are against the use of a special American Heli-Plane,
but let us see what the Media is Reporting:

Mass protest in Japan against US hybrid aircraft
Tens of thousands of people rallied on Japan's southern island of Okinawa Sunday against the deployment of US Osprey military aircraft after a series of accidents elsewhere involving the planes.

Protesters demanded the United States and Japan immediately scrap plans to deploy 12 MV-22 Ospreys at the Futenma US base on Okinawa and shut down the Futenma base in the crowded city of Ginowan.

The turnout at the main rally was estimated by organisers at more than 100,000. Okinawan media put the number at "tens of thousands".

"We don't want the Osprey, the world's most dangerous aircraft" read a placard at the mass rally at a seaside park near the base, according to television footage. "Osprey. No!" said another.

Similar rallies were staged on two smaller islands in the Okinawa island chain and in Tokyo several thousand people circled the Japanese parliament building.

100,000 Okinawa islanders tell US to keep 'unsafe' Osprey plane away

Up to100,000 Japanese activists rallied against US plans to deploy Osprey hybrid aircraft at their base on Okinawa today.

The protesters gathered at a seaside park on the southern island to demand the scrapping of plans to deploy 12 MV-22 Osprey aircraft, insisting that they are unsafe.

The US plans to deploy the Osprey, which takes off like a helicopter and flies like a plane, to replace the older CH-46 helicopters currently there.

Long-standing safety concerns increased after Osprey crashes in Morocco and Florida earlier this year and an incident in North Carolina last week - euphemistically called a "precautionary landing" by officials - further aggravated the sentiment.

Japan increases calls on U.S. to ensure safety of Osprey
Domestic concern about the safety of Ospreys remains extremely high. We would like to gain continued U.S. cooperation and understanding (about such concern)," Noda was quoted by a senior Japanese official as telling U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton in a meeting on the sidelines of a two-day summit of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation forum in Vladivostok through Sunday.

Okinawa is a very small and the American Bases are to big,
when the American stop or reduce the Flight Hours many
Japanese would be happy because the noise as well as the
Danger is to much for such a high populated Place!

Why they cant train in the US-American Desert,
that is the Place where they should do this
but not above the People of Okinawa!

FYI: Bell Boeing V-22 Osprey
The Bell Boeing V-22 Osprey is an American multi-mission, military, tiltrotor aircraft with both a vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL), and short takeoff and landing (STOL) capability. It is designed to combine the functionality of a conventional helicopter with the long-range, high-speed cruise performance of a turboprop aircraft.

The V-22 originated from the United States Department of Defense Joint-service Vertical take-off/landing Experimental (JVX) aircraft program started in 1981. The team of Bell Helicopter and Boeing Helicopters was awarded a development contract in 1983 for the tiltrotor aircraft. The Bell Boeing team jointly produce the aircraft.[4] The V-22 first flew in 1989, and began flight testing and design alterations; the complexity and difficulties of being the first tiltrotor intended for military service in the world led to many years of development.

The United States Marine Corps began crew training for the Osprey in 2000, and fielded it in 2007; it is supplementing and will eventually replace their CH-46 Sea Knights. The Osprey's other operator, the U.S. Air Force, fielded their version of the tiltrotor in 2009. Since entering service with the U.S. Marine Corps and Air Force, the Osprey has been deployed in both combat and rescue operations over Iraq, Afghanistan and Libya.

What? just because they occasionally fall out of the sky, and occasionally uproot large trees while landing they don't want them on they're tiny Island?

Kind of prudish isn't it? I thought the Japanese had bigger balls than that.

Thanks a lot for the Video,
yes- who want this close to your House, in front of Schools
above a Hospital, etc.?
(the American Base is surrounded by a normal Neighbourhood)

I think the average People need Respect and what the Americans
are doing is un-respectful!

Also there is no need for this Machines in that Area
because of the Kerosene-Limitation!
