And if her numbers are wrong or even wildly inflated, it won't hurt them. You folks who make fun of it are clueless. And I'm telling you this as a Romney voter. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 1468840 United States 09/07/2012 07:21 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | No, it was a very effective speech. Probably more effective even than Bill Clinton's brilliant speech. It was the best speech of the convention. Anonymous Coward User ID: 19852008 United States 09/07/2012 07:22 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | What a bunch of sheeple she is preaching to. It is scary that people are so foolish. Sheeple? Foolish? She's not predicting the future, she's describing things that already happened. It's right on point. The only issue could be if her "facts" are totally untrue -- are they? This hit Romney where it hurts, and it hits him with facts. |

They had great speeches..that is the truth.... with facts ,the tribute to our soldiers was great too, the goals..everything was really good.... Well, I thought most of the Dem. speeches sucked. I was very disappointed by Elizabeth Warren, who came across as just another Democratic pol. A parade of one minority after another, it looked like a zoo. Obama's speech was lukewarm too. But this Granholm speech was quite different. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 19852008 United States 09/07/2012 07:31 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | There are some reasonable Romney counterarguments on the youtube comments: This "saved the auto industry" stuff is pretty ridiculous. Ford didn't need a bailout. GM is still an awful company spewing money. They're losing tens of billions of dollars. Obama just delayed GM's bankruptcy. Obama just threw billions of taxpayer dollars down the toilet just so he could save "I saved GM" even though it's not even remotely true. Only ones in the rally are shipped in UAW drones that get paid $85.00 per hour to turn a screw clockwise So money was stolen from the hard working americans and given to a failed company. Why would you be proud of that. |

The taxpayer is on the hook for a bunch of union jobs instead of letting the free market do it's job. Why did we pick these specific jobs/industries to bail out while others failed? How many non-union companies did we bail out. The majority of the American people don't like the bailout so the speech only works on the sheeple who are already voting D |

The majority of the American people don't like the bailout so the speech only works on the sheeple who are already voting D We picked that industry because it's one we have, one that we have a history with, and one that's important for our defense industry. They may be union jobs, but they are private union jobs which makes them OK with me. I am not paying the high wages. The only high paid jobs we have, except for hotshot lawyers, doctors, bankers and other "elite" areas like that, are union jobs. With the auto industry, there's a true trickle-down effect. The final manufacturer keeps in business a lot of suppliers too, and those suppliers aren't so heavily unionized (I think.) |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 19852008 United States 09/07/2012 07:49 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Oh, and didn't GM pay back the loan already? So the "taxpayer is on the hook" argument doesn't work. But with the banks and auto companies who have paid back the loans, I still think the taxpayers should have more. The government lent them money when nobody else would have. The taxpayer was entitled to a real pound of flesh there and didn't get it. On the other hand, would you want the government owning GM? That would be even worse. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 1159154 United States 09/07/2012 10:26 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Michigan here.... Jenny was governor of Michigan during Michigan's decline. I noticed she is unusually animated with odd gestures. This is not the Jenny I remember. Also it appears she had the moles removed from her face. She actually looks very pretty. Too much coffee?.... IDK, but she is certainly acting different. In my opinion she pretty much helped fuck up Michigan's economy and any advice from her is worthless..... The only nice thing I can say is... I would hit it. |

Gave special treatment to Detoilet constantly - she knew thats where her votes were coming from. She shoul have spoke that big mouth loudly for ALL of MI not just Detoilet. Grand Rapids is very conservative and she did shit for them. Hell, Amways owners did more than she did. She was also trying to super kiss Ofucko ass on the hopes that he would put her in his cabinet somewhere. Well, she sure as hell is making sure that she gets recognized by him now. She just might be the next Monica. and she needs to get those nuggets scraped off her face. |
