Chlorophane will glow under Ultraviolet shortwave and fluorite will glow blue-violet; I don't know if willemite or sphalerite, scheelite and others would glow at night.

So is there some sort of question here? I am only seeing random statements and a few links.... wtf
Gun control is like trying to reduce drunk driving by making it tougher for sober people to own cars.

I'd like to go quietly in my sleep, like grandpa did. Not screaming in terror like the people in the back seat of the car he was driving.

It's a good question. First I wanna explain why am I interested. I read years ago about meteorites from Mars. Please check the 5th paragraph here:

It says maybe there's something UNUSUAL with crystallisation...

So... Your are trying to correlate pyrite on mars to glowing rocks on earth that you have seen?

What state, general area?

Where do you think this will lead you OP?, crystallization of minerals all occur at various temperatures and pressures. Did you find a mineral with something unique to you?, and can't find it listed on mineral maps?

Trying to follow you, stay focused.

This link, of course, is about other mineral: pyrite. But then I thought, "well, but if this shines, the glow would be YELLOW rather than blue and I wanna know about blue glow". It's because of the reflectivity upon Cydonia area at pre-dawn on Mars:
[link to www.enterprisemission.com]
Now, this was taken by Odyssey and THEMIS devices and not by Richard Hoagland. I don't have to believe HIS conclusions about that fact. According to him the reflectivity is NOT 20% as NASA says but more than 90%. In his view the whole Face is like a crystal. Therefore my thoughts run in the opposite way. I'm assuming he IS WRONG and we don't need crystals but other common mineral. Yet, since I am not a geologist, I guess someone who is could find a common rock with the same effect.

Put down the Hoagland and step away from the keyboard..... LOL

From my understanding of the cyclonic region, hematite is the dominant mineral in the area, and across most of mars alluvial plains/washes.

Blueberries spheres from ancient Martian seas? Yet, hematite ...in case it glows that is.... would be red brightness and not blue as we see in the images, wouldn't they?

Bioluminescense happens in living creatures... like the GREEN EYES of chimp Caesar in Rise of the Planet of the Apes while the newspaper tells us the astronauts get lost GOING TO MARS. Those fluorescent eyes of course are based upon REAL genetic experiences mixing genes from jellyfish within bodies of pigs, chimps, cats, fish [link to news.nationalgeographic.com] who happen to glow WHEN LIT BY ULTRAVIOLET LIGHT and of course big money $$$$$$$ is paying that research and I don't think is just to understand better diseases like AIDS as it is said. TPTB don't care about health of people.

 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 23049094

THE FLUORESCENT MINERALS

The fluorescent minerals are those that emit visible light when activated by invisible ultraviolet light (UV), X-rays and/or electron beams. Certain electrons in the mineral absorb the energy from these sources and jump to a higher energy state. The fluorescent light is emitted when those electrons drop down to a lower energy state and emit a light of their own. Although most collectors do not have access to X-ray or high energy electron emitters, they do have access to affordable ultraviolet lamps. The visible light emitted after being activated by UV light is sometimes very colorful and can often be very different from the normal color of the mineral. Collecting fluorescent minerals is a popular hobby and experienced collectors can use fluorescence for identification purposes. At night or in dark mines or caves, fluorescence can be used to find certain mineral deposits and is a viable prospecting technique.

What is incredible is even before Hoagland, he's amazed back in 1958, or 18 years BEFORE Viking 1 took the photo of the face, Jack Kirby drew it in his stories:
[link to www.enterprisemission.com]
What Hoagland didn't mention here is the drawing depicts a CRYSTAL FACE with a THIRD EYE on the forehead which Hoagland never mentioned but other researchers.
