Is there any meaning to a dream that keeps reoccurring?

Maybe this means nothing and this is just some weird things that I dream about at night nevertheless they keep reoccurring more and more frequently. The dreams are always similar in format and I do not feel as if I am in danger from the person or thing in my dream.

This is starting to creep me out!

The dreams are always similar and follow the same format with this guy/thing watching me. Sometimes he is just standing there other times walking along the shoulder of a road. Other times I find myself walking down some creepy road in a heavily wooded area like a park and he is there, watching me. Sometimes I am inside an old house with walls made of slats and no solid walls with light shining thru the open slats. The guy is also inside the house I can see and feel him watching me thru the slats and can see shadow.
This guy/thing is always dressed the same way: Black rimed hat with a long dark oil cloth overcoat, he has no face just a dark void.

If you know anything about dreams and or understand the meaning of the above let me know what you think. This is bothering me and is also kind of creepy. I mentioned it to a friend and he said he has a similar dream on a regular basis. He thinks it to be a good thing and that the guy/thing is watching over me.

I am just looking for someone to give me an idea on what this means if anything at all?
