860 Cattle disappear in outback Queensland's Devils Triangle

Supernatural or not, there has to be a conspiracy in this somewhere, if the police cannot find 860 bullocks something is up.

OUTBACK police in Queensland's $3 billion beef industry are investigating one of the biggest cattle-duffing operations since the days of the Devil's Triangle and bushranger Captain Starlight.

Cape York grazier Scott Harris, owner of the state's biggest single pastoral lease in the vast Strathmore Station near Croydon, had 860 head of prime bullocks stolen from his fattening blocks near Tambo three months ago.

The station owner has posted a $100,000 reward to help solve the riddle of how nearly $1 million of stock vanished in a theft that would have required a handful of stockmen, dogs, and at least four road trains.

Cattle theft is nothing new, but with aerial surveillance available today, their total disappearance is what interests me. That is the unexplained aspect of this.

I remember when I was a kid, the old drovers and blacks used to tell stories about the MinMin lights.They said that cattle followed them and dissappeared without a trace. If people followed they would disapear too. I saw the lights once. very small orbs about 6 or so. But I didn't follow.
that was west of townsville to mt isa and north through lankland downs to the cape.
all the old bushman were freaked by the lights.

No. Only by myself to get away from people. I like to hang out with the roo. But most towns in the north were just little bush towns when I was a kid, with proper aboriginals. (I mean no offence to anyone, but things were different then) Now too much booze and petrol and drugs and mistreatment.

Strange shit always happens in the outback, like the stories about wolf creek.

Outback bogans are a new breed of strange human, no doubt about that.
