Grasping at straws won't change what happened. Any chance of taking the Senate in November is gone. It's time to wake up from the "shining city on a hill" delusion and face cold, hard reality. What's done is done and the GOP will just have to move forward, cut their losses and hedge their bets. All the yelling, screaming and throwing fits by conservative talk show hosts, columnists and politicians are obvious symptoms of denial. Because of what happened, conservatives will have to accept retaining the House. In the event Obama gets a second term, he won't get anything done.

Deal with it. if the dems can keep the issues away from the economy and concentrate on the radical religious element of the republiacans then obama might be re-elected too, but eventually the economy will take center stage.

All the conservatives screaming for Akin's head are acting no better than Democrats when someone says something politically incorrect. If they keep this up, I may go back to voting Libertarian this year.
