Re: Off-Duty Cop Hits 4-Year-Old Girl With Motorcycle Then Shoots and Kills Angry Dad
So.....Right to defend = license to kill...Wow, that is so old school wild west you could attract millions of Asian tourists and save your economy if you used it in your marketing. Luckily normal thinking people don't think like that, just as they know that even though US cops are trained to shoot to kill they fucking know how to aim a weapon. They know how to hit other things than the kill zones. All things considered here the father deserved a bullet, just not a fatal one, and that should have consequences too.

Also I can't imagine how dropping the bike would make it seem easier to avoid hitting or serious injury on a kid running out in front of you. Number one, you just make it a bigger bullet with a lower gravity point. A sure high flier, sometimes in more than one way.

What does the 18 year old say about how the child came to be in the road? And where there any other witnesses than the involved?
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 10673393

You really don't know what your talking about.

Dropping a motorcycle does two things. It brings the impacting mass below the hip and out of the way of vital organs. It also allows the impacting legs to fly into the air, absorbing most of the momentum as a spin instead of direct impacting force.
 Quoting: --Voltaic--

What I said. You forget something. What kind of motorcycle was this? Now take into consideration 4 year old's height. US average 4 year old girls is about 40 inches. A guesstimate for average width of bikes on US roads is what, well I had to google, someone says 28 inches. Minus a few on a likely impact point (wheels) for angle, but still an extended risk to a child no?

Instinctively it's a question of a strife or a swipe. I've never experienced a similar situation, but know someone who has. It is of course all down to when you spot them coming, but he stayed on the wheels, managed to avoid the running kid but with bigger consequences to himself. As he still says, he might have saved his legs, but it was me or the kid, so I took the first exit and said my prayers. Now that I too have experienced, only in a car. Instead of hitting the other car with kids in it I did a suicide maneuver as I was the only one in my car. Luckily I had the instinct ability and some training so I lived.

That cop had every right to protect his life. It is barbaric to think a man can take the law into his own hands and seriously injure the cop for an accident.
 Quoting: --Voltaic--

And I said he deserved to get shot. That is an unusual attitude from someone from my area I presume? I mean you bring up....

Don't be an idiot and become the burden of proof like Trayvon and this attacking father. Cause if you decide to attack someone, knock them on the ground and continue to beat them, you risk being shot.
 Quoting: --Voltaic--

....as a point, which I'm not even going to address on point. We see this kind of argumentation over here too, drawing an unrelated parallel. It's the same spin around the same idea. In a complex world almost similar things are seen inside one pre-defined category box of simplicity, but it's really a rubik's cube, so unless one sees that box from the exact same point of view the once logical base for the argument seen by that observing individual gets lost and just comes across as a weak argument .

Point being, I'm sure you had a point in bringing up the probably likely justified shooting of Trayvon according to local laws, other than to see if I again would argue that lethal force is used as first option too often. Well, I just did, but anyway this is an old case, which I don't care about, with little to no real relation to this incident, which I felt a connection to due to personal history. The situation is different, state and law different, different people involved, in Trayvon none had police type close defense training, and the list goes on.

I recognize that according to US way of life, law and customs to shoot was okay in both situations, but many also aim for a knee or something and see if they stop, and typically it works satisfactory. Most people aren't thugs even if they get caught up in shit. Statistically too many people get killed, that's all.

If attacking another person is worth risking your own life, then you NEED to die and not reproduce.
 Quoting: --Voltaic--

Is life really that simple?

Chic Fuckin A has 56 chemicals in it's chicken. A good number of them carcinogenic. Bone apetit.

What does fried chicken have to do with a crappy situation like this and why did you ask this poor woman if she likes to eat that poison? (all politics aside)
 Quoting: Captain Spaulding 21326363

please list the 56 chemicals.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 14093481

Not to go off topic, but here's just a few

• monosodium glutamate (twice!)
• soybean oil
• sodium aluminum phosphate
• dimethylpolysiloxane (an anti-foaming chemical)
• high fructose corn syrup
• ammonium sulfate
• soy lecithin
• sodium benzoate
• polysorbate 80
• yellow 5
• blue 1
• potassium sorbate
• TBHQ
Along with anti-foaming ingredients and peanut oil, which a large population has allergies too and should be warned before consuming.

I'm a colon cancer survivor. When you get diagnosed with cancer you try to search for as much information as you can about what foods to stay away from and what to do to boost your immune system, among other things.

I'm sure the cop had no intention of hurting a little girl. The rest I wasn't there to see, and I know better than to trust the news (or the AMA, or I wouldn't be here right now if I did)

Sad situation for everyone involved.

If you know anything real about driving a motorcycle, then you KNOW that "laying it down" is the stupidest, most bone headed move you can make.

When you "lay it down" you have given up having control over the motorcycle and have left the final results to CHANCE.

It is equivelent to a car driver removing his steering wheel and throwing it out the window and then covering his eyes.

The officer in this regard was negligent, especially considering he is a professional driver and supposedly knew better than turn his vehicle into a missle.

He just wanted a cover story so he would not be blamed for hitting the kids with his motorcycle.

For some reason people think that if a driver lays it down then he is doing the utmost to prevent a crash. Total Bullshit.

Stupid father. Why not look after your girl when she is hurt. Why waste time beating down someone who probably never ment to harm anyone
Note to officer: Never say you are from the police, when a mob is beating you down. Better say something like "i have money i give you money" i think.

Actually you chances of getting shot are only about 2 percent.

According to the 2011 Census, there are 2,707,120 people living in Chicago. Of those, only 12,244 Chicago police officers. If we add in say, 50,000 more for retired police and other law enforcement agencies, then 62,244 people are allowed to carry a gun.

No open or concealed carry permitted unless you are law enforcement.

(I know it isn't very scientific. Just trying to make a point about the gun control law not working in this case.)

Nope. Not at all. Don't "troll for chicks" and never needed to.

Chicago cops are pretty tough (I grew up on the north side of that town). The officer must have been hurt bad and really feared for his life. I know what that's like and unless you've been there you can't predict how you'd react. Same with the guy who lost it and beat the cop.

My stage four cancer diagnosis put me in attack mode. Ended up in Vancouver getting hemp oil treatment and changing my diet completely. Three months later no tumors, only 3 small non-cancerous polyps since. It's been like that for over two years now. So I stay away from fast food, keep my pH alkaline, above 7.4 (juicing, leafy greens every day and NO fried foods) and feel great. (my neighbor just got food poisoning from Arby's and had holes "burned" all through his intestines and colon. I won't live forever, but at least I won't be going just yet. I hope.

And even though you sound like you don't like me, I hope the same for you.

We all judge here, but we really don't know how we'd react in similar situations.

Because its complete bullshit. The bottom line is this, there was an accident, do you understand what that word means ? An accident or mishap is an unforeseen and unplanned event or circumstance. The father came out and instead of taking care of his daughter, which any normal caring parent would do (which the poor guy who hit her did) he went ape on the guy. They guy defended himself with his right under the second amendment (which you guys bang on about so much here) and you say its his fault.

Its his fault only because his and of dutie police officer.

Re: Off-Duty Cop Hits 4-Year-Old Girl With Motorcycle Then Shoots and Kills Angry Dad
Moments after his motorcycle struck a 4-year-old girl, an off-duty Chicago Police officer shot and killed the girl’s irate father after he allegedly attacked the officer, the Chicago Sun Times reports.

Fraternal Order of Police Spokesman Pat Camden identified the officer as a 43-year-old veteran of the Chicago Police. The officer was headed home on Saturday evening when the horrifying incident occurred.

As he was driving home, the officer says he saw a child unexpectedly run into the street. In order not to strike the girl directly, the cop jumped off his motorcycle, pulling it down on its side on the pavement. However, the motorcycle skidded and flipped, hitting the 4-year-old girl and her 18-year-old cousin, John Passley.

As the officer attempted to provide aide to the girl, her father, identified as Christopher Middleton, 26, came running out of a nearby restaurant and aggressively approached the officer and began shouting, officials said. The cop argues that he identified himself as a police officer but Middleton still hit him in the face and knocked him to the ground before striking him repeatedly.

According to the Daily Herald, the officer said, “Take it easy, I’m the Police.” But Middleton replied, “I don’t give a f*ck who you are,” and punched him in the face.

The police officer is in the wrong. Any normal parent would be out of their minds and attack anyone that would harm their child. It is human instinct.

Most states in the United States have laws requiring you to supervise your children.

Some parents claim this can't be done at all times.

I disagree. I remember in boot camp all the things we had to keep track of all the time. You know if the drill instructor came in and your locker wasn't kept at zero when closed or you were more than a 3 or 4 steps from an open locker you got pushups. We kept track of a myriad of things at all times and we were only 18.

How about boot camp for parents who want to let their 4 year olds play in the street in violation of the law? Or boot camp for parents who say they can't keep their 4 year olds supervised? They can be trained to provide their children their legal right to be supervised.

This girl could be molested as well as run over.

How often did your locker change its own dial or get up and run out the door?
Out of this ugliness may come,
Some day, so beautiful a flower,
That men will wonder at that hour,
Remembering smoke and flowerless slum,
And ask-glimpsing the agony
Of the slaves who wrestle to be free-
'But why were all the poets dumb?'

So many paths that wind and wind,
While just the art of being kind
Is all the sad world needs.

Passley reportedly began kicking the officer, joining Middleton in the assault. Shortly after, the officer drew his weapon and fired once, fatally wounding Middleton. He was pronounced dead at around 10:14 p.m. Saturday at Loyola Medical Center.

“At that point he’s defending his life — he’s on the ground, he’s about to lose consciousness from the people who are beating him and draws his weapon in defense of his life,” Camden said. “The officer responded accordingly.”

Sounds familiar!!!

How could the officer being going that fast his bike rolled after he laid it down?

Was he speeding? Why would he lay the bike down? The kid was a little kid - he couldn't miss her on a motorcycle?

Why would anyone in their right mind lay the bike down where anything could happen? You can't control a bike's skid when you put it down like that.

Had this cop been drinking? Did he really lose control of his bike & then made up this "laid it down" story?

Why didn't he shoot a warning shot straight in the air first?

The cousin should never have kicked the man. The father had it under control. Well- for an upset dad.

The cousin in my opinion is responsible for the police officer getting so scared & over reacting.

I also think the officer could have been drunk or over tired - not fit to drive.

I think he may have been exceeding the speed limit too.

As much as cops lie - wonder if they'll get an "honest" investigation or just go with the cop's lie.

I do think he's fudging the facts a bit.

Re: Off-Duty Cop Hits 4-Year-Old Girl With Motorcycle Then Shoots and Kills Angry Dad
I don't know particulars, but a person who won't accept a beating after killing someone, and then uses fatal action which he following defends has some serious problems.

Based on your semi-literate postings, you're probably one of those retards who thinks living / sounding like ignorant refuse is something to be proud of. It isn't.

Frankly I hope you get your teeth knocked out. Or better yet, shot by your beloved law enforcement.

The restaurant is no place to be looking after a 4 year old running into streets.

Why bring up race???

I guess a white guy would have just stood there and cried after some stupid dipshit ran over his kid.

Yes because thats what civilized people do. Accidents happen all the time, doesn't give one party the right to try to beat them to death. If I had a gun and was being attack I would of shot him as well.

Because you're cowardly scum. His only mistake was not kicking hard enough.

"... what civilized people do". Funny how white trash suddenly adopt the pacifism of Mahatma Gandhi when it comes to fighting with police.

No, it´s not. It might be what the average Joe would do in the US, but that´s another story...

That reflects poorly on the rest of the world, then.

Not true though - many parents would react with violence if their children's lives were threatened. I find it more interesting that you think this is a problem.

Dad of the year there, instead of seeing if his 4 year old girl was alright, he uses it as an excuse to strike a cop. Thats teaching your children forgiveness and love right there, dude deserved to die, now his daughter can be raised by someone with a little more heart and humility.

"love and forgiveness"
"dude deserved to die"

Fuck you, piece of shit.
