I cant go through 18 pages. Can I get a precis of the salient points please. When where and how does it all start and end? Quoting: Anonymous Coward 35629325 i dont want to hijack this thread, if its not in line with the thread, just delete this post bro :). a very, very partial precis (in my opinion) would be turkey fights greece russia fights turkey russia fights some european countries and the US. (US is unable to respond immediately to russia, due to some sort of catastrophe), but will enter the conflict. ofcourse china will fight as well and all sorts of other things.etcetc a significant proportion of people will die. timeframe: take this with a grain of salt: Erna Stieglitz (Franciscan Nun) mentions late july/early august as possibly the beginning of the three pronged attack in western europe, after having secured the southern flank. Anton Johansson (sweden)said The Third World War would break out at "the end of July, beginning of August." Incidentally, Alois Irlmaier also mentions a three wedge attack in western europe but gives no date. It will be a quick war, i dont know how long but quick hehe. Alois Irlmaier mentions three days, three weeks, three months he doesnt know what it means. The pope will flee, to come back when the flowers bloom (irlmaier), (doesnt necessarily mean the same pope will comeback) the pope flees to return 200 days later (stieglitz) in other places, like the middle east, if your read the islamic mahdi prophecies, there is still some movement after the "european" war. There will be a consolidation in South Africa that will include several other countries like Zambia and Zimbabwe, according to (Siener). Me ill be dead. joke?. so the big fire will be quickly extinguished, a few months perhaps, but there will still be some small/relatively sized fires. (possibly) so the months of the emperors Julius and Augustus, it starts in earnest, maybe they should have kept the old names Quintilis and Sextilis :) the events will come galloping along, what with qe pyramid scheme, attempting gun prohibition (george albert smith), etcetc... there will be riots and civil wars, economic collapse, persecution of politicians before russia attacks western europe. the comet, the earthquakes, fireballs, tsunamis, famine, disease, the 3 days, etcetc and their speculated arrivals ill just leave out, as this is too long already. just my 2 cents. dont shoot. my opinion only based on what ive read. simplest summary of eschatology for me is: "east quickly moves west, many die, the remaining starts the golden age." Quoting: insertfunnyusername [link to www.asianews.it] That's a good 959 years. Just saying... Among the religious VIPs attending is the spiritual leader of the world's Orthodox Christians, Bartholomew I, who became the first patriarch from the Istanbul-based church to attend a papal investiture since the two branches of Christianity split nearly 1,000 years ago. Also attending for the first time was the chief rabbi of Rome. Their presence underscores the broad hopes for ecumenical and interfaith dialogue in this new papacy given Francis' own work for improved relations and his namesake St. Francis of Assisi. In a gesture to Christians in the East, the pope prayed with Eastern rite Catholic patriarchs and archbishops before the tomb of St. Peter at the start of the Mass and the Gospel was chanted in Greek rather than the traditional Latin. Thanks, Quoting: John 15619266 What is everyone's thoughts on the Cyprus issue atm and Turkey's peace proposal/agreements with the Kurds. Hello John. Cyprus issue has gone from a financial issue to a political one, only one thing is certain though, it won't end well for the Cypriots either way, just watching things unravel now, i won't lie here, i'm worried, just hoping for the best. Your thoughts? Kurdish peace negotiations are good news if they will be successful, almost 40 thousand people have died and millions have been displaced the last 30 years because of this. To be totally honest here i don't trust the motives of Erdogan's govt i think that they are just trying to cover cracks in house because their zero-problem foreign policy backfired a bit. In the long run Kurds getting their rights is inevitable, Kurds in Turkey according to studies are going to be a majority in 30 years, they will get what they want either the easy or the hard way, 30 years is nothing for them, they managed to survive and maintain their language, tradition, national and cultural identity despite the 100 year hardcore assimilation process initiated by Kemal that never stopped since then. Allies are pressing Erdogan for a more democratic constitution, big chances of Turkey going federal in the next decade if that happens, but this opens another can of worms. 21st of March is a rather interesting date to announce peace too. |

Hey Swin I think this step combined with other recent ones, are probably the biggest rapprochement/Ecumenism steps taken by the two churches for centuries, if you believe in the globalized religion thing, these are very interesting moves. Read recently a Russian prophecy that says for the ac to come there must be one eighth Ecumenical Council for the unification of all churches. Not sure if they can pull something like this off that soon though, seems too obvious. What do you think of the new Pope? His inauguration wasn't big news today with Cyprus, MSM here portray him as a humble lovable fella. Last Edited by insertfunnyusername on 03/19/2013 06:49 PM |

The Orthodox view is that there have been only seven ecumenical councils, where the RCC acknowledges 21, the non-Chalcedonian ("Oriental Orthodox" churches (Copts, Ethiopians, Armenian, Jacobites) the first three and the Nestorians (East Syriac)the first two. For a council to be considered an eighth ecumenical one by the Orthodox I'm assuming it would have to include the RCC but not the Oriental Orthodox or Nestorians (as the Orthodox accept councils that didn't include them). Hope that helps. |

He gets good press here, too, though I read one report that he was known never to smile when he was Jesuit superior in Argentina. I like that he cares about the poor. He was the bishop responsible for Eastern Catholics in Argentina, so he has a pretty good background for discussions with the Orthodox. I'd think the RCC would be keener on reunification -- they've been talking about it since Vatican 2. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 20497204 From an eschatology perspective Ecumenism is the last step before the a-c, the prophecy was mentioning all the churches of Christ, didn't give more details about them, just that the 8th ecumunical council will be the last. |

Quoting: Swinburnian I'd think the RCC would be keener on reunification -- they've been talking about it since Vatican 2. According to MSM here, quoting a raiuno show, Pope and Patriarch shared a great and very friendly 2 and a half hour dinner, Patriarch invited the Pope to Phanar, unity of the churches and rapprochement with the Orthodox is a priority for the Pope and he's probably even willing to discuss his primacy among bishops status. That's big step imo, we'll see. If you ask my opinion, i can't possibly know what will happen to Israel, just observing like most do but i don't think that Israel will be destroyed, Israel militarily is in the top5 worldwide, neighbors are not anywhere near that standard, but if the situation in the ME goes the bad and unfortunate way and escalate into a WW scenario, Israel will suffer terrible losses and damages because of it's small size, Israel can't sustain a long military campaign without consequences, but it's the best country around in the blitzkrieg kind of warfare and is able to end the conflicts in a very small amount of time, this in a WW scenario won't be the case, if i am to make a guess just for the sake of it, i'd say it will probably be a Pyrrhic victory.
