weird bird migrations

Ok so I was driving to work last night heading into dallas and I notices something weird....I saw a flock of geese flying south. I thought wow it is way to early for geese to migrate like that....Well when I got to work I was talking to a coworker about what I saw and he said there was a tree by a gas station where the starlings (little black birds that migrate in large groups. you know the ones that when one turns the whole group turns)always flock when they are migrating. He said he saw the tree full of them. Another coworker said he saw the same thing at another location and thought it weird these birds are migrating so early. So I am wondering if anyone else has noticed any weird or unusual animal activity or bird migration behavior lately.
