First off, your logic is flawed. Only the mindless are controlled by the TV. According to TV, who really is pretty? Who do I hate? Who will I vote for? What are my prejudices? You can NOT answer for you have NO knowledge of me and how I think. Only an asshole swears by something they do NOT know. I enjoy watching the History channels, Discovery and Science Channels. I never watch the news, both local and network. I never watch MTV, VH1. I think my granddaughter is the prettiest person on Earth. Why, because I pay attention to her, not what someone else has decided that I have to watch. Who do I hate? I hate everyone that is so self-centered that they would rather have someone else do all of their thinking because they are just too damn good to think for themselves. Who would I vote for? The person most in agreement with how I feel, and what I think. Who am I prejudice against? Anyone, and everyone who says that I am wrong for still believing in the Constitution, anyone who tells me that I have to accept other peoples opinion that have no respect for my opinion. Telling me that I have to accept a perversion of my belief, simply because they think it is their right to demand I accept them without question, even though they refuse to accept any opinion of mine. TV is not the problem, stupid asshole people who wont keep their noises out of other people business is the problem.

I was speaking in general terms. What you do in life (everything including tv), makes you who you are.

If you spend 4 hours watching the History Channel (BTW history is written by the winners, and may not reflect what really took place), or 4 hours watching Housewives, you are still being effected by it.

Would you not agree?

You should not forget however than many may throw away their TV just to replace it by for instance GLP mentality after a while. It is replacing a drug by another one if one does not understand the point of all.

Internet is too as much as a drug as a source of information. What you read makes what you think.
 Quoting: Sandrose

Yes, including what you read. Internet, books, magazines, etc.

At least with written media you have a small bit more control over what you are "ingesting".

Very true OP!

I like to even go farther and call it the multimedia complex.
(TV, Radio, Newspapers, and magazines)

It is the strongest control mechanism the elite posses. Next to religion.

The internet is a bit harder to control because you can choose what to view all over the world. You can choose to be controlled OR the controller of your own thoughts and choices.

YOU always have a choice to learn and take the power back!

yoda

This only breaks the ice as far as the control mechanisms go. Words and symbols that we see in day to day life also act as control mechanisms. When you choose to learn and study what they are trying to do with the symbols, You realize the less of an effect they have on you.

Good mornin' Rev-

Your words are true.

People's minds have been weakened; they are undisciplined by many factors.

I ponder this:

Are they just on their own path and should be left to figure it out themselves?

or

Do we step in to deliver the message, not concerning ourselves with the result?

or

Make a point to make sure the point is understood?

I have a feeling none of it will matter 6 months from now, but for what it is worth.

1. If I can help "enlighten" someone, I think I should try.

2. I have done this with family members. Lucky for me, I have a "good reputation" in my family and they are willing to listen to me. Once someone starts to see the facts and listen to logic, it is hard for them to deny it.

3. I dont worry about making a point to see if I am understood. I figure, if I can deliver the message without attacking the person, then I will let fate take its course.
