weather this summer in Alaska sucks. It is cold, overcast, windy, cold, buggy, and cold.
We have had maybe 4 days of 60 plus weather all summer. Ice Age anyone?

Does anyone know if the magnetosphere simulation site out of Japan is, or will be back up.

its not up now and we are given no time frame for when or if it ever will be again :/

An Aurora here in California would be nice. But we need a Kp index of 7+ to see one. Right now the graphs are showing Kp4 but it most likely will change.

Don't think there is a "monster CME" associated to this flare...

Just your garden-variety boring CME...

X-FLARE! Big sunspot AR1520 unleashed an X1.4-class solar flare on July 12th at 1653 UT. Because the sunspot was directly facing Earth at the time of the blast, this is a geoeffective event. Stay tuned for updates about possible CMEs and radio blackouts.

False... it was worse in the past. There was MUCH bigger fires in the late 1800s and early 1900s than what Colorado saw this year.

Moot point anyway since Colorado has been getting a lot of rainfall lately.

Usually takes a pretty decent event for Spaceweather to upload anything during the day...All eyes are awaiting updates...people can give me all the bad Karma they want saying I`m spreading fear but the bottom line is we are very vulnerable to big events due to all the technology we rely on these days...I just want to raise people`s awareness and also help them enjoy watching such an event...
