Monsoonal-like, Wet Season style Rainfall in North Queensland in the middle of the Dry Season? WTF?

Media are reporting that this is the biggest rain event in the North in over a century!

This is the 'dry season' up here in the monsoonal tropics, and yet we have had several days of monsoonal style rain.

This is definitely not 'normal' weather patterns!
