I think extremism of any religion is a bad thing and its usually the women that pay the price. Some religions learned from the past, christians now realize the witch hunts were wrong. However at the time men in the grip of extreme religious beliefs thought they were doing gods work. Much is the same for some(not all) muslim countries in todays world who chose to govern their people with a centuries old religion rather than laws laid down by its people and a democratic process. I do not hate any religion and do not believe that any one is the true faith. After all we are all gods children and we all believe in fundamently the same thing, which is god, if you choose to worship him in a church, mosque or your bedroom it should always be a personal thing. When you try to enforce it on others is where it tends to go wrong as every one will interpret holy texts in different ways, picking and choosing what they deem to be important. Love your neighbour, do not judge others that is the job of god. Do not think that you can know gods wishes by reading a holy text because he is far beyond our comprehension. Live your life by the basic tenants of most religions, which are pretty much the same, do not kill, steal, cheat or lie. Help others where you can. Peace and love to you all. |
