I think it's about time we get some new signatures on it and then take this document and shove a copy up every ones ass.

Maybe that will remind them that WE have the power and that THEY work for US!

He is at this time transporting large Armies of foreign Mercenaries to compleat the works of death, desolation, and tyranny, already begun with circumstances of Cruelty & Perfidy scarcely paralleled in the most barbarous ages, and totally unworthy the Head of a civilized nation.

He has constrained our fellow Citizens taken Captive on the high Seas to bear Arms against their Country, to become the executioners of their friends and Brethren, or to fall themselves by their Hands.

He has excited domestic insurrections amongst us, and has endeavoured to bring on the inhabitants of our frontiers, the merciless Indian Savages whose known rule of warfare, is an undistinguished destruction of all ages, sexes and conditions.

In every stage of these Oppressions We have Petitioned for Redress in the most humble terms: Our repeated Petitions have been answered only by repeated injury. A Prince, whose character is thus marked by every act which may define a Tyrant, is unfit to be the ruler of a free people.

Excellent video! Thank you for posting it.

I think it's accurate to say that, in general, we tend to think of those days back in 1776 as being part of "ancient history". When you consider the great technological progress that has been made in our nation since that time, it is quite reasonable to conclude that those days should, rightly, be included in that era known as "ancient history". In reality, however, the birth of our nation did not occur all that long ago, a mere 236 years.

To a youngster, this number, the age of our nation, is incomprehensible - for all practical purposes almost infinitely large. But as we get up in years we begin to realize that 1776 wasn't really all that long ago. My ancestors immigrated to the united States of America from East Prussia in 1888. As a result, my family has been a part of this nation for almost half of these 236 years. And I, having been born in 1946, have lived during almost 30% of those 236 years.

Today, July 4, 2012, as I reflect upon the years that I have been a part of our nation, I am greatly saddened by the changes that have taken place in our republic and continue to take place at an alarming ever-increasing rate, especially during the past 20 years. In 1776 the founding fathers of our nation pledged their lives, fortunes, and sacred honor and embarked upon a brutal struggle to create a nation where freedom reigned - a nation free from the oppression of tyrannical monarchs and overlords,,, a God-fearing nation where men were free to pursue, as they saw fit, their lives, liberty, and happiness without having to fear being crushed by some tyrant or his ruling minions.

From those humble beginnings in 1776 until the early years of my life, our nation grew to become the envy of the world. We, as a nation and as a people, were the light - the beacon - of freedom, of goodness, of strength, and of prosperity to all others in the world who struggled daily under the rule of despots and tyrants. But since my early years, the light in that beacon has been dimming at an ever-increasing rate. During the later part of the 20th century, and since then, many have tried to warn the populous of the direction we were heading. They tried to warn us of the direction the "powers that be" were taking our nation, and that if proper actions were not taken we would find ourselves exactly where our founding fathers found themselves back in 1776. During that time many ridiculed those "watchmen on the wall" and, sadly, few heeded their warnings.

Today we find our nation being led by a man whom we know virtually nothing about - a man who, by many accounts, is not even constitutionally eligible to be the President of these united States - a man that, along with his cohorts, is day-by-day leading us down a path of no return, a path that will lead to the ultimate destruction of our once-great nation and all that it stood for. I firmly believe that should this man be re-elected, or should I say "re-appointed" to office this coming November, the end of that path will be close at hand.

We must remain vigilant! We must act! We must change the course we are currently heading! It is up to us - those living today - to ensure that we, as a people and as a nation (and, for that matter, the rest of the world) do not lose everything our founding fathers gave to us. We need to re-kindle that beacon of freedom!
