Don't know much about genetics, do you? 1/32 of anything would never show up in an obvious, visible way. How could it overpower the 31/32nds of everything else? Hmmm?

What I was pointing out when I typed that was that I am considerably more Native American than her lily white ass. And of course I am a White person but I am darker compared to many whites.

Why is it always Cherokee? Anyways, the problem with tracing back Native ancestry is that doing such a thing gets pretty difficult to impossible the further back you go. Unlike whites, Native Americans, in general, didn't record genealogies. For example, to use my 1/2 blood quantum daughter as an example, her father, grandparents, great grandparents and great-great grandparents all had some sort of US federal record of their existence. To give an idea of how sketchy the information gets, her great-great grandfather, as per Dine tradition, did not actually have a name and was only referred to as Hastiin plus his nickname. All of her great-great grandparents lacked birth certificates and, in most cases, lack death certificates. They were just noted on censuses and that's for the genealogical history of a little girl who is 1/2 native american with absolute certainty. In Warren's case, her claim of connection to the Cherokee tribe goes back further in time. The information proving such a claim is going to be really quite sparse one way or the other. The GOP probably knew that what would come up in the end--not a whole lot to prove it.

For the record, Warren's claims probably wouldn't make much of an impact on Native Americans beyond annoyance. From my experience of living within a tribe for years, claiming native descent from some far off g-g-g-nanny doesn't make a person a native and is regarded as being irritating. Even a drop of Nat Am blood doesn't equate to one being native at all for most tribes because that person has been so long divested from the tribe that the spiritual and belief systems are thoroughly ruptured.

And as far as the results of her present goes, "indications" being found is actually pretty impressive considering how far back in the fog barrier her claim goes. Most people wouldn't have that.
