They took up a collection. They brought Christmas presents for the couple’s three young children. They donated plants for a garden at Liberty Park Elementary School, a project that had been her husband’s passion — a way of using his skills as a farmer to help out one of his kid’s school. Then, last year, the Lake Worth woman got a letter, alerting her that Walmart benefited richly from her husband’s death. Like hundreds of thousands of its other employees, the Arkansas-based discount giant had secretly taken out a life insurance policy on her husband when he worked as a department head in the garden center of its store on Forest Hill Boulevard, her attorneys said. Ronald Gaub’s death, they said, put between $75,000 and $150,000 in its pockets. I used to work at walmart and hear they do this. They pretend to care but honestly all they care about is paying you the least amount of money and giving you the least amount of hours possible. |

This is news to the local folks but common knowledge in the big business world. The insurance companies couldn't be happier! Just another reason why Walmart is bad news. Personally I have never shopped there nor will I ever.

They make you show a receipt every time you exit the building. The last time I shopped there I refused to show my receipt because they had those magnetic anti-theft devices. The alarm didn't go off when I walked passed it and then I noticed one of the receipt checkers pushing a button that sounded off the alarm. That was the last straw for me. |

That is what they think of us. We are the peasants and they are our lords or barons. Makes me sick, most companies do this. |
