I scored 85.

"Your M3 Score is in the high range as compared to individuals already known to be suffering from a mood or anxiety disorder. This is cause for real concern, as it indicates your symptoms are impacting your life and general health. Read carefully the information and recommendations below concerning your risk of each of the four conditions described. "

I can't believe I'm that bad. I thought this was mild depression...

I would assume that people would already know if they're sad, anxious, or traumatized, but I guess it's useful if you want to know whether you would be "officially diagnosed."

If you're feeling crappy you have every right to try to feel better, who cares if it's officially what they would diagnose or not? Diagnostic standards shift all the time.

btw I don't have any of these (I know I feel good) and I got a 23, so you shouldn't interpret a score above zero as anything wrong.

This short assessment is to simply provide the number that someone could give to their Doc who would then recommend formal testing if necessary. If I did score high on this, I would think that maybe I had issues I never really paid attention to, and probably ask for a real Mental Health Exam.

What a joke, "mood disorders" also known as "life" are a fking scam to push drugs on people.

"Oh you're sad? Here, take this drug that will give you 30 other side-effects on top of making you a suicidal psychopath who is liable to shoot up his school."

Chemical imbalance? Literally never once in history proven. Ever. All fucking marketing non-sense.

The worst part, is that by your thread history I don't think you're a shill, you're even worse - a useful idiot.

I pity that you couldn't even be bothered to do a bit of research before ingesting lethal, mind-altering psychotropic drugs. Now if you'll do the world a favor and stop attempting to push them on other unwitting sheeple that would be great.

Re: 3 Minute Test for Mood Disorder - DEPRESSION, ANXIETY, BIPOLAR DISORDER AND PTSD
I have seasonal depression and the other end, hypo-mania.

If I relied on these people I would be treated for bi-polar disorder, given the wrong medicines and in less than a month either be bouncing off the walls or committing suicide... again.

Seasonal Affected Disorder is due to light and temperature. It is not like usual depression or mania and does not respond well to the antidepressants and bi-polar medications out there. In fact, more often than not when a person is misdiagnosed when they have SAD, a doctor will come along, drug them and really fuck them over.

With proper diet, and allotted times of light and darkness I manage my SAD very well. Most SAD suffers would with the right light therapy and a sound diet respond well.

A sound diet in this case is one where you eat heavier foods like fats, meats, dairy in winter and eat lighter foods like salads, steamed veg. Going with the natural cravings that come with SAD one can manage the condition, even thrive.

Three minutes to take test...

The rest of your life with an expensive and dangerous drug addiction...

Google "Effexor withdrawal", tell me if any depression so mild that you don't know you have it unless you take a test is worth that!

well, sometimes people have a very hard time dealing with "life" and it leads to extreme difficulties with coping in everyday situations. i have severe mental health issues. i am a firm believer in not taking medication, so i have always gone the route of therapy. edit to add: correcting myself - i did take pills for a while right after having my first breakdown. i didnt want to, but listed to my doctors because i wanted to feel better. they were poison, and were terrible. eventually i finally said "NO". i then did a really intensive group program for a year, and things are better, but still not ideal. so im waiting on a list to get into another program. i think that everyone who takes meds should also HAVE to do therapy. they're gonna get far more help from therapy than pills.

but i really do hate when people are like "oh its just life, deal with it".. because no. for some of us, its a very serious issue. i have always had a wonderful life. i have no reason to have the issues i have... and yet i do. i work on getting better (without pills) everyday, but damn man. some people are just really, seriously, fucked up. they truly have a hard time coping with things that normal people do without any issues at all.

Well I am glad that you're not stupid. But you cannot fix a broken leg by breaking the other leg. If someone has a tough time coping, you don't need to give them an addictive, life threatening drug that can make them go completely psychotic or drop them dead on the ground.

Did you know that cocaine and heroin are A LOT OF FUN? Did you know that they can make you forget about all those stresses you have in your life? You're sad? Take some heroin. You're stressed? Take some heroin. Uncomfortable? Take some heroin. Got some anxiety? Take some heroin!

There's literally zero difference. It's so funny that people fall for the jedi mind-trick of believing something is safe and effective, just because a guy in a white coat is pushing it. We have no trouble associating danger with a thug on a corner pushing heroin on the corner, but when its a guy in a white coat with fancy degrees on the wall, people just eat up everything that is said.

It's absolutely proven over and over again that the absolute vast majority of drugs are not effective OR SAFE.

Do people have trouble with certain issues, more so than others in the general public? Absolutely. Is the answer to chemically lobotomize them with mind-altering toxic drugs that can murder them? Are you kidding?

Just an FYI...Thyroid illness is epidemic..

And guess what? Hypothyroidism can cause depression. Hyperthyroidism can cause anxiety.

And that's just one possible cause.

Yah, or a essential fatty acids deficiency as well. Most people will be "cured" of depression by simply taking ESSENTIAL (note that very key use of the word in the label) fatty acids.

Here's the difference between EFA's and the leading anti-depressant:

SIDE-EFFECTS OF ESSENTIAL FATTY ACIDS:
- Reduce the risk of heart disease
- Improve cognitive function
- Improve arthritis and reduce inflammation
- Helps in the formation of healthy cell membranes
- Proper development and functioning of the brain and nervous system
- Proper thyroid and adrenal activity
- Hormone production
- Regulation of blood pressure, liver function, immune and inflammatory responses
- Regulation of blood clotting: Omega-6 FAs encourage blood clot formation, whereas Omega-3 oil reduces clotting. The ideal is to achieve a balance between omega-6 and omega-3 FAs
- Crucial for the transport and breakdown of cholesterol
- Support healthy skin and hair

SIDE-EFFECTS OF "EFFEXOR" 36% OF ANTI-DEPRESSANT MARKET (2008):
- Nausea -- in up to 58 percent of people
- Headache -- up to 26.1 percent (see Effexor and Migraine Headaches)
- Drowsiness -- up to 23 percent
- Dry mouth -- up to 22 percent (see Effexor and Dry Mouth)
- Dizziness -- up to 23.9 percent
- Insomnia -- up to 22.5 percent (see Effexor and Insomnia)
- Nervousness -- up to 21.3 percent
- Loss of appetite -- up to 17 percent
- Body weakness -- up to 16.9 percent
- Sweating -- up to 19.3 percent
- Constipation -- up to 15 percent
- High blood pressure (hypertension) -- up to 13 percent
- Ejaculation problems -- up to 12.5 percent (see Effexor Sexual Side Effects)
- Anxiety -- up to 11.2 percent
- Shakiness (tremors) -- up to 10.2 percent
- Diarrhea -- up to 8 percent
- Yawning -- up to 8 percent
- Chills -- up to 6.8 percent
- Vomiting -- up to 6.8 percent
- Indigestion (dyspepsia) -- up to 6.7 percent
- Impotence (erectile dysfunction or ED) -- up to 6 percent (see Effexor and Impotence)
- Blurred vision -- up to 6 percent.
- A decreased sex drive (libido)
- Infections
- Flushing (redness of the skin, especially the face)
- Gas
- Weight loss (see Effexor and Weight Loss)
- Weight gain (see Effexor and Weight Gain)
