This will end the same way as it did last time, people will die in droves.

Article from ohio;(Columbus) - As the state cracks down on pain clinics and prescription drug abuse, addicts are turning to a familiar drug to get their high: heroin.

"The amount of heroin that we've seized so far this year is up 60 percent compared to the amount of heroin we seized last year," said Lt. Anne Ralston of the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

I have been treated like a junkie plenty. The sad part is that in most other countries you can purchase low strength opiates otc. On the u.s however taking them makes you a junkie.

This is all while the Taliban controlled poppy production, keeping it minimal...we certainly took care of THAT problem! Now the brown frown is pennies to the oxy dollar.

A few days ago at work a guy with diabetes came in complaining about how doctors labelled him an addict and wouldn't give him anymore even though he's about to lose his leg and his insides are failing. i had to look up a methadone clinic for the poor guy so he could get something to help him deal with this crap.

You don't want to go down that road, my friend. My best friend since childhood has crohns, and ever since his first morphine IV after his first surgery, he fell in love for the exact reason you described...10 years later he was shooting grams of H in one shot, his life had spun out of control...he always tried to relate how much pain he had. Luckily, he got clean (suboxone is a god-send) & now manages his crohns through a more conscious diet & he's in a MUCH better place.

BUT NO ONE ELSE CONTROLS 98% OF THE WORLDS POPPY PRODUCTION. THE US IS IN FULL CONTROL OF 98% OF THE WORLDS POPPY PRODUCTION.

WHEN THE US GAINES CONTROL OF 98% OF THE WORLDS POPPY PRODUCTION. HEROIN PRODUCTION AND DISTRIBUTION DID NOT DECREASE. NOPE IT SURE DID NOT.

NOW YOU SAY CONSUMPTION IS INCREASING? WELL WHO IS PRODUCING AND DISTRIBUTING THE HEROIN? WHO? YEAP THAT IS RIGHT THE US GOVERNMENT.

NOW ECONOMICALLY IF CONSUMPTIO/DEMAND INCREASES BUT PRICES REMAIN STABLE THAT MEANS THAT PRODUCTION AND DISTIBUTION HAS BEEN RAMPED UP TO MEET THE MARKET DEMAND FOR A PRODUCT.

ARE PRICES STILL STABLE? WELL LET US HAVE A LOOK

YES IT APPEARS CURRENT MARKET PRICES ARE STABLE AND HAVE NOT INCREASED.

SO WHO IS PRODUCING AND DISTRIBUTING THE HEROIN TO MEET THE INCREASE IN CONSUMER MARKET GROWTH OF HEROIN? WHO?
DID YOU SAY THE US GOVERNMENT? YEAP YOU ARE RIGHT. DO YOU KNOW WHY?

Snip; The problem is also not limited to the D.C. region. A national survey on drug abuse released in September showed that the number of people abusing heroin between 2002 and 2012 more than doubled from 214,000 to 467,000.

In the last six years, the number of people who admitted to using heroin recently went from 373,000 in 2007 to 669,000 in 2012.

Snip;A new study published in the American Journal of Preventive Medicine gives new insight into the geographic variation in drug poisoning mortality, with both urban centers and rural areas showing a large increase in death rates.

While previous studies have looked at drug poisoning related deaths in broad strokes, this is the first study to examine them on the county level across the entire U.S. Drug poisoning is now the leading cause of injury death in the U.S. and has increased by more than 300 percent over the last three decades.

Almost 90 percent of poisoning deaths can be attributed to illicit or licit drugs, with prescription drugs accounting for the majority of drug overdose deaths. According to reports from the National Survey of Drug Use and Health, about 2.1 percent of Americans-or roughly 5 million people-have used prescription painkillers non-medically in the past month.

"Afghanistan has been the greatest illicit opium producer in the entire world, ahead of Burma (Myanmar), the "Golden Triangle", and Latin America since 1992, excluding the year 2001.[1] Afghanistan is the main producer of opium in the "Golden Crescent". Opium production in Afghanistan has been on the rise since U.S. occupation"

Snip; Last year, heroin killed 161 people in the county. More than half of those deaths occurred in the suburbs, according County Medical Examiner Dr. Thomas Gilson.

The number of heroin deaths in 2012 is a four-fold increase over 2007 statistics.

Heroin supplanted cocaine in 2011 as the county's deadliest drug, and its death toll continues to soar.

Here it is though below

Snip; The heroin epidemic in Ohio now kills one person in the state every five hours and kills more people each year than car accidents do.

No doubt about it, that's why I posted this thread two years ago, I saw the writing on the wall way back.

When I first posted the crack down had just started.

I now know two people who can't get legit pain meds because the crack down. The second is still on disability and he is definitely screwed up bad. I worry about him slipping up and going back to the old party days where he never comes back.

Suddenly the rest of the pharmacy staff treats me with respect and more than a little fear. They have no right to question my MD’s orders as long as they are within reasonable and safe parameters - and they are. Too many Pharmacists are in fear of loosing their licenses today.
