Why are my plants dying?
I took these photos today, May 4th. This is a photo of a Japanese Maple. All of the leaves are dying.

This is a picture of ground covering around my house. It looks like someone took a can of spray paint to it.

I don't know what to think about it. I'm hesitant to plant anything else, especially not my normal garden. 1dunno1

They look ok. Chill out and give them organic stuff. They'll be fine.

The leaves on the crown of the tree have already fallen. Don't think it's ok.

Mother nature waters the trees and ground coverings. We've had a good couple of rains recently. I water my vegetable garden.

Lots of my trees are dying too. Turning red. Looks more like fall than spring.

Check the bark of your maple for beetles and did you have a frost after the maple budded out?

It went down into the 40's but no frost. I'll check the bark.

Re: Why are my plants dying?
Japanese maples are fairly sensitive to rapid changes in temperature.

Did you have cool weather followed by a very rapid warm up recently?

Your photos seem to show leaf curl which could mean many different things, but is primarily seen in fresh new growth that is put under heavy stress like wild temperature changes or sudden lack of moisture.

It very well may have frosted the top of the tree then from evaporation freezing.

Re: Why are my plants dying?
Did you just plant that maple, or is it established for at least a year? It looks like heat damage with a little lack of water. Might want to put a little bit of old coffee grounds around the base of the tree also for acidity. If you think it might be fungal take a sample up to a local nursery, run it up to Gales or Petitti's.

I'm only human, it's my biggest flaw.

We must all realize a sink a chair and a pillow are all luxuries of home and a soldiers helmet takes the place of all three.

It's been there for a few years. I definitely think the ground coverings have a fungal infection. They aren't the greatest pics but it looks like they have bright orange spray paint drips on them.

Re: Why are my plants dying?
Noticed this burning of the leaves with my bushes last year that left huge bare spots that didn't leaf up until now, almost a whole year later. On that note, the same bushes are dropping leaves all over the place too. Strangest thing. All my plants seem to be struggling the last few years despite plenty of water. Lost the tree in my front yard last year already.

Not sure what is going on, my house/indoor plants are doing great though, so it isn't the water. Seems like it is the Sun...

I have seedlings sprouting at the moment but I think they are going into pots in the house this year. If I took a picture of every plant in my yard you can see that they are dying. ALL OF THEM. My neighbors plants are dying as well.

Sure sounds like a rust type of fungus. Makes sense if you have had recent rains. Take a leaf to a local gardner or garden center and get it identified. If it is rust, get a potent fungicide from the garden center and go to town on everything nearby that might be infected.

something in their environment does not suit them (duh). but obviously not just yer plants. call yer local extension office and ask them if something is going around stressing everything.
