We have no choice but to start with what we were taught..learned beliefs...and this is normally the reason why pain and suffering is the best teacher because it takes this suffering to realize that what we believe in, or keep doing over and over isn`t working. Learned/core beliefs are a huge wall in front of us..if only we knew that once we searched new areas of awakening that we could still contain these old beliefs it would make the awakening a lot easier on us....it all still remains a part of us even after the awakening--EVERYTHING---perhaps from a different perspective in knowing that you had to step on those stones to become awake,,, Quoting: <<LOOK`n thru YOU>> Hit the nail on the head.... Funny before I saw this thread I had just asked God to please give me clarity now, give me what I need. But all is still a jumble. Thanks for the post OP Don't worry friend. Just stay aware of your surroundings, and especially of your own thoughts. It's not an instantaneous change you feel, it's a gradual process, that usually results from a culmination of experiences and suffering in your life (think of it as a 'tipping point'). It's like a seed was planted inside you. One day it sprouts and it begins growing slowly each day as you move along and progress. And you can't stop it, nor will you want to. You may have already begun the process if you feel drawn to this subject matter. Don't force it, just be yourself and embrace those positive qualities that you feel drawn to. Devote more energy to your heart (and the emotions associated with it), and ease up a bit on the energy that you're devoting to your mind/ego. Once you come to the realization of what is happening - you will experience several positive changes inside. A new sense of calmness. The negative stressors in your life will not seem quite as threatening to you as they once did (because you will realize that they are only the product of a temporary reality). They'll still be there, but you will view them in a new light. You will feel an inner drive pushing you along that gives you a sense of purpose, and meaning, and direction. Your thinking will not be muddied by negative emotions or negative impulses/urges. You will have a much stronger sense of clarity and awareness that gives you new insight into all walks of life. Don't be concerned if this doesn't make complete sense when you read it, you will understand it after the fact, and it will be crystal clear. No amount of me reading about this would have expedited my process. In fact I probably wouldn't have been able to fully understand much of what is being discussed here, but I know that I would have kept an open mind about it and that's all you can ask of yourself.
