Huge blocks of cement and glass towered over asphalt parking lots. Somehow it wasn't much like home, even home in a shack. "What do you expect?" they asked impatiently. "You're too poor to live like us. Until you can do better for yourselves, you should be grateful, shouldn't you?" The head said yes, but the heart said no. They needed more electricity in the city, so they found a mountain stream to dam. As the waters rose, dead rabbits and deer floated by; baby birds too young to fly drowned in the nest while mother birds cried helplessly. "It's not a pretty sight," they said, "but now a million people can run their air conditioners all summer. That's more important than one mountain stream, isn't it?" The head said yes, but the heart said no. They saw oppression and terrorism in a far-off land, so they made war against it. Bombs reduced the country to rubble. Its population cowered in fear, and every day more villagers were buried in rough wooden coffins. "You have to be prepared to make sacrifices," they said. "If some innocent bystanders get hurt, isn't that just the price one must pay for peace?" The head said yes, but the heart said no. The years rolled by and they got old. It is a very deep and complex subject, but you need to realise that our minds are also subject to "hacking" by other entities that do not have your best interest at heart. In other words, thoughts can be introduced/injected artificially causing you to believe that they are your thoughts. Deep subject. Way down the rabbit hole. We each must follow our own path through this reality. If you would like some additional information about this concept, take a look at the book by Eckhart Tolle called A New Earth. I completely agree with you. I started hearing voices, and lemme tell you my subconscious "mind/ego" was in no way shape or form my friend. It wouldn't surprise me one bit if it really were a negative entity injecting their ideas into me either that or I'm incredibly self destructive. When I listen to my heart, it is full of love and acceptance. There is a silent understanding/communication. I remember being in my mothers woumb, right before she went into labor. The first moment was zen and peace, and then my mind woke up and there was a constant emptiness and restlessness. |

You have to practice an open mind, take in lots of information, and then use your natural instincts and intuition to make sense of it and decide what really rings true with your heart. It's not a feeling in your mind of, "Oh that sounds most logical", it's really a feeling that resonates through your entire body (including your heart). |
